Palaka Resorts is a fantastic family vacation spot with something for everyone. The pure surrounding, greenery, lawns and the coconut orchard will refresh you. The lawns have been landscaped so beautifully, that you are bound to click a lot of pictures of the lawn. The various lawn ornaments of different animals are just adorable. In addition, the resort boasts of a complete children’s playground (complete with swing, see-saw, slide, others), private paddle boating, badminton, basketball for those who would like to sport around. There is also a great obstacle course in the Coconut orchard for the brave ones apart from enjoying some great lazy walk-around the beautiful green. There is also a bullock-cart available if you want to experience the \'Village-Transport\'. Being in the middle of the orchards and all the greenery does attract a lot of fauna. You will find some unexpected visitors in your rooms sometimes like frogs jumping around and playing the fool. The staff is very helpful and willing to go that extra mile to make your stay comfortable and memorable. They attend to your needs anytime you call them – night or day. The restaurant is in the center of the resort serving hot simple delicacies. I wish they had served some more variety especially snack. The rooms themselves are very comfortable with all basic amenities along with the satellite connection for those who do not want to miss any of their regular shows, cricket, movies, etc. The view from the front side of the room overlooks the gardens and the rear side overlooks the pond and other orchard. A great view sitting in your bed and sipping hot coffee in the morning. All though there are regular power cuts, the resort is equipped with a full generator ensure no interruption to your fun. There are 2 distinct places near the resort that are worth visiting. There is a small dam and a reservoir about 200m from the resort. The view, walk and trekking around is something I truly enjoyed. It is also an ideal place for small family picnic which the resort staff will be more than happy to pack. The second place is the Ranganaswamy Temple at “Hole Kotte” around 5KM towards Hassan. The drive itself on the highway is beautiful with fields and a railway line passing along where definitely you will see a train go by. It brought back some memories from my childhood. The climb to the temple has surprisingly fantastic roads and a view that you have to visit to appreciate. The temple itself is very well constructed and going by the infrastructure, is very heavily visited. One may want to keep in mind that the template closes around 4:30PM. There is a also a small Ganesh temple on the way to this temple which was also very nice.

I went to the resort with my family and another family friend of ours. I was thrilled that my 3 year old son had so much to do there that he had a great time. There was so much place in the lawns to run around. There was also a Slide, Swing, Seesaw and rockers for him to play. We also had a great time at the pool. There is a great pool with a separate children’s section which was very safe even for my 3 year old. We also had a great time with all the indoor games like Carom board, Chess and some other games. I will certainly like to go back there again and would highly recommend this place a great family vacation place.

I liked the Peace and Serenity of the Resort. With a drive of under 5 hours from Bangalore, you have much of the energy left to start enjoying your day the moment you reach. Add to that a courteous staff ready to serve makes the stay that much more comfortable. I liked the row of coconut trees and especially the coconut water offered to us was very sweet. With a swimming pool and the Dam close by (about 5 minutes walk) rest assured your day zips past and makes you realize your holiday is coming to an end faster than you thought. My kids enjoyed playing on the lush green lawns and have been asking me when our next trip would be :)

Have been to Palaka two times along with family and friends. The place is has a rustic feel and is a great place to spend time with family... remember to carry the books you have been planning to read for some time as you will have enough places to relax and complete the books. A water body nearby provides good day picnic spot. Also, its convientiently located to all places of intewrest nearby... place to spend time in peace....

Best Experience: the pool is excellent ... nearby the coconut trees... ideal to jump along with friends and family....

Worst Experience: Not much.. the rooms can be done better

It was a once-in-a-lifetime trip to the heart of Karnataka architecture, greenery and water. The resort is excellent with good ambience, luxurious facilities, very good food, great activities, friendly staff, relaxing atmosphere, kids pool/activities, nice walks around coconut groove, etc. The resort itself is very nicely located close to a backwater and a dam, and is easy to locate as it is just off the Hassan-Mysore highway. We were told to go to Coorg or Chikmagalur, but on suggestion of a friend, ended up visiting this resort about 30 kms from Hassan. We drove down from Bangalore after touring Bangalore. We took the Bangalore-Mangalore road, starting early morning and reaching the resort in 4 hours. Apart from going to Belur, Halebid and Shravanabelagola, we visited Sri Ramadevara Dam, Ramanathpur temples, Gorur Dam, Shettyhalli Church, etc.

Best Experience: We went as a group of 3 families and stayed for 3 nights and 4 days, but never got bored as there is so much activity to do in the resort. The adults and kids enjoyed the swimming pool. We visited the nearby coconut grooves, caught up with the birds around the dam and backwaters which is just a short walk away. The vegetarian food was very tasty, not spicy and the restaurant was a pleasant experience. The staff is very friendly and were very easy to access and become very close to the kids. The restaurant has piped music with a nice fountain at its centre and 2 parrots in a small cage.

Worst Experience: The power supply can be erractic. Though the resort has a generator that runs whenever power goes out, it tends to create noise.
