Nestled in a quiet part of the city, with bamboo shrubs on one side and steep hillside on the other, the outer facade of the hotel is rather unimpressive. When we entered the hotel through a small passage to the reception, I was in two minds whether we should shift to a more fancy hotel. But when the ever smiling Mr. Norbu Bhutia, the proprietor cum manager, showed us our room (room no. 1), it was like WOW! A big well furnished room with fantastic view of the city and the mountain. Gyser, room heater, double blanket, every thing that one needs in the month of December. One can have one's morning cuppa in bed and watch sunrise over Kanchenjunga. But the USP of the hotel is its dining area and terrace. Decorated in Sikkimese style with abundant flowers all around, it is a visual delight. Fresh food cooked in the adjacent kitchen is served piping hot to the guests. One must try their homemade pancake and Momo - simply delicious! The management believed in the motto " service with smile". If someone wants quite a memorable holiday in the cleanest city of India, try this hotel. PS : Richard Gere, the hollywood superstar, stayed in room No. 1 in April, 2013.
It's our bad luck that we have selected this hotel for 1night stay. The story is like that:- After a long day journey from Zero point to Gangtok mis-happened with landslide, we have checked in by 10:30 PM at night. The hotel staff asked us whether we are medically or physically fit after this long hectic journey. They prepared very light food and warm water for us and served at room that night. At morning at the breakfast table we were amazed with the view of Terrace garden restaurant and food quality. We are still regretting why one night only. Rooms were big, nicely decorated and comfortable.
We visited Gangtok in April 2014 and stayed in Hotel Pandim. We didn't get a mountain view room as all the view rooms were booked but the view from the roof and dining area is really nice. The ambiance of the dining area is very soothing to spend the evening or morning. Room is spacious enough and clean with all amenities. Staff was very cooperative. And the food was very good... From tea to dinner with plenty of options. We tried Tibetan breakfast which was fun and tasty. You can get car for sight seeing from hotel itself. But we got another car from outside in a cheaper rate. The manager was a bit busy with foreigners but he is very helpful. I asked to use his computer for 1 hour and he accepted with a smile. The locality is calm and quiet and the market area is just 10 mins walking through short cut way though it is a bit tough for aged persons. Overall we enjoyed our stay in this hotel and recommend for others...
We stayed for 11 days in Gangtok. We changed to 3 hotels with Kangchenjunga view but, Pandim Hotel. Room No. 101 surpasses all, so I will go again for a longer stay. The room has two major views, one 180 degree Kanchenjunga range sunrise view. You feel like shake hand from bed. Second, it is on the edge, entire city of Gangtok and long valley view for 180 degree is open to you, you have a bird eye view of the city and valley. Room is hanging in the space. Night view of lighted city and valley is beyond words. I would give 7 out of 7 to Pandim. Food was good and even we got Kichadi and Kadhi. Taxi to go down to M. G. Road is easily available. A momo restaurant is also within the building. The hotel is on the back of Palace and Sachivalay. Excellent cleanliness. I recommend to one and all.
I stayed in Hotel Pandim for two nights in November, 2014 during our trip to Sikkim. Its a place which is a little difficult to find and is a little away from the main Gangok town. The hotel is well-kept and the rooms are warm with wall to wall carpet (Thank god for that). The hotel provides TV in all the rooms and the bathrooms are equipped with hot water geysers. The rooms are big with beautiful view of the town as well as the Himalayas. The restaurant is on the top floor and has beautiful ambiance. The food is nice and is home cooked. The restaurant also has open view where you can cherish your breakfast and sip in your tea and enjoy the view. The staff are very cooperative and looks after your needs. Dorje was extremely helpful and took good care of ours. The rooms are not on the ground floor and there is no elevator available. So, if you are travelling with old age people who cannot climb the stairs please avoid this place. This is a no frill and simple hotel which is duly recommended.
This was our second visit to this hotel, previously we went in 2010. Since 2010 we have seen a huge improvement in interiors of the rooms. Rooms were excellent with all amenities provided. Food was average but they served in rooms if you ask for it. Hollywood Superstar Richard Gere had stayed in this hotel. The hotel location is excellent, you can take a stroll in a park located nearby or sit in open restaurant to take a sip of coffee. M G Marg the most happening place in Gangtok is located nearby. The hotel staff are very polite, well-behaved and cooperative. The hotel arranged transportation for us at reasonable price. The only downer would be that they serve dinner quite early. The kitchen closes by 8 PM. Other than this issue I have thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel even better this second time.
I did not face any problem while finding the hotel it was suited in convenient place. The staff behaviour was good and helpful nature. It was relaxation with trip with my family. The rooms provided to me were neat and clean well-maintained with basic amenities. There were no problems while check-in and check-out. The appearance of the hotel from internal and external was very nice. There were activities like swimming pool and gym facilities. The room was neat and clean but there were no AC in the room. There was no parking facility. I would like to visit again in the same hotel even like to recommend to other traveller.
We stayed at Hotel Pandim for three days in October while touring Sikkim. The hotel is a little away from the hustle and bustle of the city. You may have some difficulty locating the hotel, but the owner Kesang Norbu was kind enough to guide us from the Taxi Stand. The rooms are simple, clean & come with a balcony (or at least ours did). Get up at 5-6 am to get a mesmerizing view of Mt. Kanchenjunga from the windows and balconies and from the exuberant restaurant located at the hotel's terrace. Food served on the terrace top is very simple & limited. MG Road is a 10 min walk downhill.
Pandim Hotel is run by a family and it was very friendly response we get, we visited there form my vacation with my friend. As I was coming from Bangalore so I booked my over phone and it was quite easy and friendly. I must say people from Sikkim are quit friendly and so well-mannered. Hotel staffs were so friendly, they arrange a vehicle form my local sightseeing too and best part of this hotel is beautiful view from the restaurant at the top of the hotel. I would recommencement all to stay in Hotel Pandim.

Excellent base to stay for a trip to Sikkim. Clean, comfortable rooms, delicious home made food, and extremely hospitable staff. Its a home away from home. They arranged all our sight seeing trips also to perfection. We will definitely go back to sikkim for another stay at this Hotel.
We stayed in hotel Pandim, Gangtok in the month of June. It was a wonderful stay there. The rooms are spacious. The washrooms are also clean. It was just another home for me and my family. The manager, Mr Kesang was quite helpful in arranging the cabs for us for local sightseeing and for transfer to Darjeeling. We enjoyed the food also. Mr Ramu would prepare the food for us even in odd hours. The dining area is beautiful with good decor. The small garden outside the dining area with beautiful flowers is good. You can see the whole city from the terrace and the balconies of the room. We would like to stay there again.
