About Papi Hills

voted as clean

Papi Hills is among the beautiful attractions of Rajahmundry, which lies on the Eastern Ghats from where the Godavari River flows towards east. Popularly known as PapiKondalu in Telugu language, Papi Hills is surrounded by dense green forests. It is situated in the village Perantala Palli, at the confluence of Sabari River and Godavari River.

It is surrounded by rich flora and fauna, thick rain forests, small waterfalls and beautiful water streams. Many tribal people are inhabited in the surrounding jungles. Furthermore, these jungles have a temple also, which is dedicated to Lord Yoga Rama. It is believed that Lord Yoga Rama spent his days in Dandakaranya under the Yoga Samadhi.
The beauty and the calm environment of this place attract many visitors. Locales believe that it is a holy place where sins can be relieved. It is the place where Godavari River is shortest in width less than 1 km. Boat rides are available to take tourists through this narrow width.

"A hilly way with boat ride leads to Bhadrachalam Temple"

  • 6.5/7
  • Posted Mar 22, 2016
The main theme of the boat ride between these hills is to reach "Bhadrachalam Temple". This ride will long for "3 days from Rajahmundry". Several "cottage boats are available" for the travellers. The ride costs starts from "2000/-" for a comfortable ride per each. And it is recommended to start from Rajahmundry with all the needy materials as it is not possible to buy anything in the middle. The attractions of this ride are "shore dinner"and "sunrise scenery of the river". And after the ride places to see are "Ramachandra Temple", "Parnasala", the temple will be available for the travellers from morning to 12:30pm.

The boat ride from Rajahmundry to Papikondalu or Papi Hills is one of the best boat rides in South India on Godavari River. The 60 km ride is thrilling journey from hills to the Godavari Delta. There are AP tourism boats and private boats available for ride. One can book the boat ride online at AP tourism site.

"Papi Hills a must visit place for nature love rd"

  • 5.0/7
  • Posted Aug 27, 2014
I liked the view of Papi Hills from starting of the tour i. E. , early morning. The view of sunrise is astonishing when you are travelling in a boat. The waves of river shining in the sun rays is one of the clickable movement especially when you are a photographer. As you travel the high standing hills and the curvy river path will definitely surprise you. In the tour you will come through some temples cited by riverside and the handicrafts sell by the locals are beautiful and they will fit in everyone's showcase.

If you wish to stay at night there are wooden huts and food facilities are there. Overall, it's a cool place to visit.
