Pazhamudhir Solai is a temple situated close to the Alagar Koil temple. Located on the hills, this temple is dedicated to Lord Subramanya. The temple is also considered as one of the six abodes of the lord. Devotees visit this temple in large number as in the evening the deity is carried on the golden chariot daily. Pilgrims also take a dip in the natural spring called Nuburagangai.

The temple houses sculptures of deity carved in wood and marble. One of the highlights of the temple is the giant steps.

"Abode of Lord Murugan"

  • 5.5/7
  • Posted Aug 24, 2016
On 4th day of our religious personal tour, we visited Pazhamudircholai Murugan Temple, Madurai. The Temple is dedicated Lord Murugan and is one of six holy abodes of Lord Murugan in Tamil Nadu. It is at a distance of 25 km from Meenakshi Amman Temple. We prayed here and got blessing from Lord Murugan. There is also a big temple of Lord Shiva just near this temple. A must visit place when you are in Madurai and are devotee of Lord Murugan. A nice visit of Sanctum.

"Peaceful Temple"

  • 6.0/7

The Murugan temple is on the hill. It is so calm and peaceful. I stayed there for two hours and had Darshan with family. It is one of the six temples of Lord Murugan. People say that in the six temples, it is the last one. To sit in meditation, the place is so nice.

"One of the six famous temples of Lord Muruga"

  • 6.0/7
  • Posted Jun 8, 2016
One of the six famous temples of Lord muruga. This temple is located on the top of the Alagar hill. The temple is small yet it is located on a beautiful hill. One kilometer from there is a place where water flows from the ground just like springs and geysers.

It is believed to be an ancient spring and the water is sweet and clear. Now they charge money to take Bath, fill water in bottles and containers. It will be crowded always. You have to wait in long queues. So if you are planning to go to this place start early morning.

"Peaceful and divine"

Lord Murugan Temple just before the Alagar Koil is located about 20-30 in the out skirts of Madurai. A very peaceful, divine and spiritual experience. Best time to visit is during the day for about 1-2 hours, preferably by own transportation (two wheeler or car).
