December probably isn't the best of times to visit Kodai. But we had a pleasant stay here in PBI, courtesy the warmth of staff, and the enjoyable variety of breakfast food. Hot water is not an issue, but some rooms could be cooler as they get very little sunshine, like the one we stayed. But finally it was a choice between spacious bunker beds and the sunshine or hill view, and we took the former. Our boys-aged 11 and 8, were immediately off to explore on their own, and also made some friends in the games room cum library. They did report on the dog, the ducks, the goats and the guinea-pigs; and the outdoor shuttle-court. We went sight-seeing in the mornings, lunched in different restaurants nearby and spent lazy afternoons within the PBI hotel premises; no complaints from the kids, as they engaged themselves in indoor games. Our gracious host did show us around on the final day of our 4-day visit; the nursery and the garden, and all that our kids had reported earlier. Not for the aged to explore on their own, as the paths could get somewhat sloping down. Definitely would love to visit again. Maybe in summer, if possible.
Pine Borough Inn our second home. It was always wonderful experience at Pine Borough Inn. We originally booked a big bungalow in Kodaikanal, however we felt it was too weird, damp and dirty and wanted to cancel our trip and go back. We asked our guide for an alternate place to stay. Our guide took us to Pine Borough Inn. Thanks to him for having us introduced to this excellent place. The place was warm and cosy. The rooms were very clean and we occupied a room with a bunker bed, our kids enjoyed the most. What more, the buffet breakfast was very tasty and rendered a family atmosphere. The attenders were very kind and courteous, always willing to help. There was an indoor play area, with all the necessary amenities, we enjoyed to our heart's content in the play area. Most days, we played table tennis past mid-night and the room was shielded so well that other guests are not disturbed. It is a pleasure to walk down hill in Pine Borough Inn to enjoy the fresh air. You would notice friendly feathered creatures, they walk with you. You have swings and see-saws to relax. From then on, we made it a point to stay at Pine Borough Inn every time we visit Kodai. We came and stayed with our friends families. On one instance, we came as 2 families, with 8 members (4 adults & 4 kids). The owner helped us to occupy two adjacent rooms with connecting passage in between. It was an amazing time with both families enjoying each others company in the comfort of Kodaikanal. The flower gardens are trimmed and well-maintained. The attenders help you with a variety of mouth-watering dishes at odd times of the day. What more, we receive greetings for Christmas and New Year and it feels good to know that you are remembered at Pine Borough Inn. Just before, I filled this section, our family was living through the memory lanes viewing and enjoying the pictures of Kodai and our special place, Pine Borough Inn. In short, Pine Borough Inn is our second home.
We went to the hotel for about 2 nights with my full family. Our welcome was good and the hotel was also good. The food was great especially the owner of hotel was keeping on asking about facility and any requirement. The dogs there was very playful and loves carrots. Overall i would say that i wish to visit again to pine borough next time.
We visited Kodaikanal and based on TripAdvisor reviews we choose Pine Borough Inn. Me and my wife had booked the room for 3 days. Before actually reaching Kodaikanal, we received a call from our taxi driver (kennedy) who said that he would be picking us up from Kodaikanal bus stand. We had a very pleasant stay in this Inn. As far as the Inn is concerned, I liked the hospitality of the staff, the rooms are excellent especially with the wood panel and stone walls. It actually gives a feel of the old type of Inn. The breakfast served was very good, hot and fresh everyday. We stayed for 3 days and the breakfast was complementary on all 3 days. All facilities provided were as advertised and there was nothing lacking in the amenities. Clean beds and rooms. Hot water facility was available all the time. I also liked the landscaped garden, nursery of plants. There is also a small library and club with Chess, Carom, table tennis, shuttle badminton court, basketball among others. We also had a very helpful taxi driver (kennedy) who was our driver, guide and photographer all in one. He picked us from the time we arrived in Kodaikanal and we went in the same taxi for all 3 days covering all places that could be covered in Kodaikanal. Finally, the same taxi driver also dropped us till Coimbatore from where we had an onward journey. In Summary, the entire trip was memorable and we fully enjoyed our stay at Pine Borough Inn. I would definitely recommend this Inn as it is suitable for all types, couples, family and even for Solo travellers.
Overall had great time at Kodaikanal with my family. Visited there for the first and stayed Pine Borough Inn for 2 days and 1 night. It was a pleasant stay and same time lot to do and see at city. I liked the ambiance and service of the hotel. Staff was very cooperative and welcoming. Just that food was not up to the level. I was expecting some different and multiple options in the breakfast but, it was regular South Indian food and Bread butter Jam was available. Hope hotel staff will look into the same and improve accordingly. Otherwise I will recommend the hotel for those who doesn't want to stay inside the main part of the city and wanted to spend reasonable time in the hotel because they have a lot to offer like play area (indoor and outdoor) for elder, kids play area, huge garden area to relax, reading area, peaceful location etc.
