Poonja International Reviews
Plus points are it is very near to railway station, shopping complex and theatres. Hospitality was good and food was good. Bathrooms are not up to the mark. WiFi available only at lobby. At last it is not bad hotel and value for money. Car parking and restaurant were average.
The Wi-Fi connection was provided in the lobby. I had visited this hotel for official purpose. The activity was not conducted by the hotel. The hotel was located in the middle of the city. The transportation facility was available at nearby the hotel. I had booked this room by online. The provided room was neat and clean in the hotel. I would sugge....Read More
All are good (location, room service, value for money and cleanliness) except WiFi. WiFi available only lobby. Complimentary breakfast dishes needs to be increased, and WiFi to be given all rooms..
Overall service was good. Starting from reception, room service and the food. Rooms and toilet was clean. Located walkway distance from central rail-station and city centre. I am a frequent traveller, 1st time I stayed here in Executive AC room and happy with their service. They have 24 hrs C-In/Out facility.
Good hotel for short business stay. Value for money. Close to railway station, easily accessible to city centre, malls etc. Complimentary breakfast is good and adequate. Friendly staff and courteous service. Bathrooms have short shower curtains which do not serve their purpose.
Not worth taking... Room is not at par as rating and service is also not up to mark.. Moreover if you want to charge your phone or laptop you have to call them to bring extantion code.. Only one power point is available in all rooms which also too far from beds... Saffron is good.. Go for that.
Good stay. Food can be better presented and improved upon. Coffee was not very hot and flask not very presentable. Otherwise was a pleasant stay. No disturbance and quiet. Room service quite helpful. Reception quite efficient. Could see the sea at a distance.
The mattress had bugs and the room was not clean. No value for money. The bathroom was unclean. Room was substandard. Only positive was the location. We had a one night stay only as we were heading to Baikal the next morning. Bad rooms.
Location wise its good.. Very near to railway station and city centre. A bit old fashioned... Tv they are still using the old crt tv, no lcd or led. But it's a budget hotel for a one day stay.
Room are good and neat with cleanliness.. The location is near to accessible modes of travel... Facilities are good and also with the foods seems taste. The cost of the room in make my trip app is cheap without second thought we can go and stay for it... The best hotel to stay for.

Brilliant. Stayed to Poonja last October and had an amazing time. The check in was super-fast. Service was brilliant and very prompt. We used to call the board-line to place an order and within 30 seconds, there would be a knock on the door. Initially had booked the stay for 3 nights but seeing the service here, we stayed an extra night.
Hotel was good and its accommodation was so good. Rooms were neat and clean. TV, geyser, and other basic amenities were available in the room. Location and appearance were very nice. Food was available and it was delicious. Nothing was available in activities. I faced no problem during check in and check out process. I will recommend this hotel for tourists. Staff behavior was helpful and cooperative. I visited there with my family in the month of June and it was a relaxing trip. I am totally satisfied with the amount of money I have spent at the hotel.
The hotel is located in the city centre of Mangalore city, KS Rao road. The hotel was good and it had a old charm, probably one of the old hotels in Mangalore town. The rooms were neat and very big. The view from the room is good. The bathrooms were neat. However, it has a very ordinary appeal to it. Probably, because the hotel wants to maintain its originality and do not wish to make big changes to interiors. Room service was decent. Preferably choose AC rooms, as it's extremely humid and hot in Mangalore and that too in December (you can then imagine, rest of the year).
Difficult to decide where I should start! The only - and I mean ONLY - good thing about this otherwise avoidable dump is the size of the rooms. Our Executive AC room was quite spacious, Oldfield yes, but quite comfortable. A larger bed would have suited it better though. Apart from this, everything else goes wrong. When you check-in, reception staff seems suspicious the moment you say you've a reserved through a website. Support staff wear disheveled clothes or airlifting stained uniforms, reluctant to help or assist in anything. Simply clueless about what it means to be in the hospitality field. No drinking water was kept in out room on checking in, we did ask for it before leaving for dinner but it still wasn't kept when we returned at 11:30 at night. And then they took another 20 min to bring it. You reach your room, and realise that the AC is straight out of a 80's movie, the TV set-top box is frustratingly complicated to use, TV/AC remotes have to be knocked at to make them work, electrical fittings are quite shabby, curtains and bedsheets aren't clean enough. Even the door lock is so antique, it's locking mechanism is too complicated to use. Or maybe it was faulty cos I couldn't lock in spite of trying hard for a full 10 minutes even after I was given oral instructions by the manager. The state of the bathroom is worse, tiles are stained, fittings are loose and barely functional, the huge mirror is stained, the commode is wedged so close to a corner that it's difficult to sit in, the shower spits out water in all directions except where you want it to, the shower drain is practically open (it's cover comes off), toiletries are sparse, maybe not replaced for ages ... The list is exhaustive! Coming to the final nail in the coffin: buffet breakfast is served from 8 to 10:15. The menu itself is extremely limited, just 3-4 dishes, considering the sum they charge for the room. But when we reached at 9:30, there was no fruit juice and one of the three 'items' - upma - was already finished. When I asked, the senior waiter flatly refused to get some more. Mind you, it takes just 10 minutes to cook up upma afresh! No dosa, no ildi-wada, no cakes, not even milk. The toaster ejects bread slices so fast that you've to be ready to catch them else they'll fall to the floor. No omelettes - only boiled eggs were kept, unhealed. You've to ask even for bread and jam! No one even bothered to clear up the tables in the room where breakfast is served, so we decided to sit out. Promptly at 10 the manager walks in and the senior waiter tells him that some people are still eating. He asks the waiter to close the doors! Soon after this another waiter switches off the lights above the table we are eating! It is as if they just don't want you there !! We had gone for just an overnight stay, but this apathy was too much to digest. From the outside it looks like a pretty old and grand establishment, but I guess the current management's only goal right now is to run it bankrupt. Thankfully, check-out was smooth and as we left, we said good riddance! Do avoid. At all costs. Too expensive and too less to offer.
State for a night whole in transit. Great location and easy to find the location. Great service and very courteous staff. Rooms are very spacious and comfort is good. Sleep quality is good but can be improved a little. Bathroom needs to be lightly renovated as it looks a little old.
