The place has been a decent enough design conscious place, but by now a run down, tired stinking establishment, by European standards. The taps did not work, sheets overused a thousand times, lights confusing 2 switch on, breakfast barely adequate, slim ans sparing. Kitchen area scarily dirty, if u can find anything else, aim for that. « Less

More » We picked the amarvilas over other five star hotels for the view. We were not disappointed. The taj is the single big thing in your line of sight from the main lobby or the rooms which face it. The hotel itself is quite beautiful in a series of terraced steps going to the pool. Dinner was great and the chef went to extra lengths to get a pizza baked for my six year old. Lunch and breakfast are far behind in comparison and one and try other places. The staff are really courteous and helpful ... Tips are not allowed...my son needed some goggles to swim and there was no fuss and a lot of smiles.. One of the two diners is for adults only,,, and as you have gathered there is no pizza or pasta in the restaurant .. Or PAv Bhaji.. The other things one could do... We did not know you had to book in advance for the taj by moonlight and really agra is a not a 3 day destination..the hotel helps but if you don't know to ask, I guess that's that.oh and the taj is not visible in moonlight from the hotel. It was a very good experience but not the very best. « Less
