Gangtok Hotels

Gangtok, is the capital city of Sikkim and there are only about 50,000 inhabitants here. This city nestled in the Himalayas is emerging as a major tourist destination attracting more and more people every year.  Gangtok is most definitely a mix of old and the new, where the old-worldly essence meets a cosmopolitian flavour, where good hospitality coexists within the present day era. 
In this city we can witness the blending of different cultures and religions in sync and perfect harmony. The local people have a very strong sense of bonding with their customs, beliefs and traditions. The city of Gangtok has transformed itself with a big thump. The city has definitely become very metropolitan with big roads, flyovers, upscale stores, pubs, discos, and modernization to the hilt. Foreigners visiting here should hold an Indian visa. Also, foreigners should have an Inner Line Permit (ILP) to visit here. These permits are easily available at the designated Indian missions, tourism Offices in New Delhi, Sikkim, Calcutta, Siliguri, etc. 
For the comfort of tourists, there are plenty of taxis, jeeps, which ply between nearby states and places and are also available for local sightseeing. And keeping the tourist in mind, Gangtok has a mix of old and new hotels, inns, tourist homes, resorts etc. Visitors are regally treated with that characteristic local feel.
