Basically its a good Hotel not too Jazzy, but good to go with family or friends too. food package is really very reasonable and they also serve you with good food.As the food served is hygienic and pure veg i would say it would be a good choise for family outings. |

I will not spend too much prose on Matheran - which is the only automobile-free hill station in India. Selecting the right hotel is the key to a good experience. No doubt the stars matter, but the real thrill is in getting a good bargain.

Matheran visit

Thanks for your detailed reply and its quite encouraging, we can not really wait anymore to reach there and see the natures beauty. Just couple of more questions.
1. You said we will have to park our car, we plan to reach by bus from Bombay, as we are attending a seminar there and taking a break to visit Matheran. Moreover we all are female travellers I hope there shouldnt be any problem. Can we take the toy train to reach Matheran .
2. Noted the kind of horses available in Matheran, we would prefer a Arab Stallion as they are much stronger and we would be confortable riding them, as we are used to ride them in our school/college days.
3. It seems you have been to Matheran many times can you just tell me the places of interest so that we can plan accordingly. We have 3 full days and a half day in Matheran.
4. You said we can even ride them in the night, is it possible and is it safe to ride in the hills.
5. Is whipping the horse allowed there for punishing them to demand the best performance.
Thanks a ton and hope to receive your quick response, as we are all very eager to visiit Matheran.

Matheran visit
Hi
I am Bobby Farida Khan from Dehradun, I along with 5 friends planning to visit Matheran in August. I heard this is the best place for horse riding. As we all are trained riders we would like to know how to get the horses there for 3 to 4 days as we will explore the hill on horseback daily.
