We were visiting Kalimpong after a gap of 25 years.
Having read about Holumba Haven in Lonely Planet as well
as HolidayIQ, we checked into this lovely resort.
This is set a Km before the Main town area amongst a nursery
with a variety of exotic plants.Lots of animals as well!!

We were driving from Kolkata to Gangtok and needed a night halt
in Siliguri. We decided to check into the Mainak Tourist Lodge run
by WBTDC. I had stayed here about 25 years ago and remembered
it as a fairly decent place. Regrettably it is now totally run down and
shabby. The saving grace was the friendly staff so unlike usually rude
