Hotel Review of Fortune Resort Bay Island
Comments: Andaman & Nicobar Islands are a wonderful destination. Overall the experience was good, except for the hotel bathrooms which were pretty sad - very basic & not worthy of a 4 star property. The visit to the Cellular Jail took us back into history, and the Sound & Light Show there was interesting.
Best Experience: The view from the rooms and restaurant was lovely. Each room has a small balcony attached from where we could see the sea and wonderful shades of blue! The hotel package also included some sightseeing and a one night stay at Havelock Island - the best part of the trip. The beaches at Havelock Island are out of this world. A single beach had 5 -6 shades of blue water and pristine white sands. We also went on a trip to Mouaterra Island where my family was alone on an island beach for the day with a picnic basket, a boat to ourselves, some snorkelling gear and no one else!!
Worst Experience: The ferry (run by the government) from Port Blair to Havelock Island was poorly maintained, full of cockroaches and painfully slow. An improvement here would be a godsend (maybe they should privatise!)

I was forced to stay at the resort because my return flight was cancelled. I took my own time reaching the place and I probably got there 3 or 4 hours after the others who missed the flight did. The consequence - I got probably the only room in the whole resort that had no direct view of the sea. I dare say, this room is reserved for the one who comes in last! It had a rather musty odour...

We stayed here overnight from our return from Havelok Island as our filight was the next day. The ambience is good with a fantastic view of the bay with cool sea breeze blowing into your balcony....

Hotel Review of Fortune Resort Bay Island
Located on the shore gives perfect view of nearby islands from the balcony. Service was so good that we were never made to wait for anything. Hotel mainly made of wood is very well maintained, very clean. Hotel Garden is lush green and pool is very neat. Standard room has TV AC and refrigerator. There is a theatre room and also a small shop with good collection of pearl , shells and other local andamani items....

Took a team of managers on a treasure hunt at the near by Ross Island. The resort is a good and the conference room adequate. Enjoyed snorkling at North Bay. Hotel staff very helpful....
