Prabhasgiri, a small hillock, is situated on the banks of River Yamuna at the Manjhanpur Tehsil. According to the legend, it is the same place where the 13th Jain teerthankara Bhagwan Padama Prabhu, spent most part of his life. Owing to this, the place is also one of the most sacred Jain pilgrimages in India.
In addition, as per the mythology, it is believed that Shri Krishna after being pierced by an arrow shot by Jaratkumar, died at this site. Tourists visiting this hillock can also visit an 18th century Jain temple. In addition, travellers can also explore the ancient caves, which have got inscriptions in Brahmi scripts, dating back to 2nd century, when the destination was under the reign of the Gupta dynasty.
