Pune food, sight-seeing and shopping options
Burger King at M. G. Road offers yummy burgers and worth the price. Try the steak and beef burgers. Pasteur, close to the same place, has delicious thick shakes. Kayani bakery located in that same area is an old parsi bakery. Their choicest ones are Madeira. You could visit the Osho Ashram at Koregaon. In Koregaon, the famous eatout is the German Bakery where you could be rubbing shoulders wit foreigners.

Hotel Review of Lake weekend The
Comments: The resort is normally visited during weekend; since we visited the resort during weekday, I and my wife were the only guests at the resort! Being just two guests, many resort facilities were not available like swimming pool, rain dance.... even if they were available it would not be fun with just the two of us. We felt we might get bored, but spent one splendid evening worth remembering.

We reached there around 12 noon, had a brief rest followed by a good lunch, and then chose to have an afternoon siesta in room after looking around the resort. We felt it would not be much fun as resort was more or less deserted. As evening neared, we had tea and trekked up to the hill behind the resort. The view from top is breathtaking! You can see backwaters of panshet dam on one side and of varasgaon dam on the other. It is a good and refreshing trek to the top.

We came back, had snacks and tea, and spent some time in our room before dinner.

The resort is definitely worth the money if you are a economy traveller like me :)
Best Experience: Great view from rooms and from top of the hill behind the resort - all rooms offer a great view of varasgaon dam backwaters through large window and/or terrace. The best experience invariably is to wake up early in the morning when the mountains around the dam look blue, and as the morning grows watch the reflection of the mountains in water grow more and more sharp. When the sun grows bright the reflection does go away, but it is definitely a great view in morning hours.

Apart from this food is very good (if you like typical maharashtrian delicacies). I am pretty sure the other amenities like swimming pool, rain dance would be great fun if you visit the resort during weekend.

The resort is worth a good day spent just because of the great view of dam backwaters it offers and good food. If you want to spend peaceful time in solitude, visit during weekdays, if you want funfilled day with lot of recreational activities, visit during the weekend. You can also go for a day visit.

The resort is more popular during summer as swimming pool and rain dance can be great fun during summer time.
Worst Experience: The resort gives complementary boating tickets that can be used at varasgaon boat club on the way back from resort. They have boats for groups, and we being only two, the club agreed to give only a short 1 minute ride :( This is very disappointing.... we paid extra for a longer ride.

There was nothing for us to do after sunset except watch movie on my laptop. There is no television in the rooms - only option for us was to play pool or carrom. Even the rooms are all for group accommodation, 6 to 10 people, and it is awkward if you are just 2-3 people in the group. However, the resort is building new rooms with couple accommodation.

The worst thing without question is absolutely horrible access road to the resort once you break away from the main road. It is more a bed of dust and stone than a road.
