This is a good Resort for a family stay. Privacy is well-maintained and good Budget hotel if you have a kid as it provides a lot of play area for children, Hygiene is well-maintained all over the Hotel premises. The only problem with the Resort is that you have to Pre order your Dinner. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The only suggestion for is that you should not use the Travel Desk of the Hotel as its charging very high compare to other Outside Vehicle for Sightseeing. That is the only reason I rated 5 out of 7.
Hotel was located at about 3 kms distance from city. Location of the hotel was good. Appearance wise, it was very nice. I booked my room already there. No delays in check-in and check-out and was on time. Booking and front office staff was perfect. Everything was fine in this hotel. Services were excellent. Rooms were neat, clean, and spacious. TV, geyser, and drinking water, were available. They arranged food outside the hotel. Activities were very fine in this hotel. I visited there with my family in the month of August 2014 and it was a relaxing trip. Ooty as tourist place is beautiful. Hotel is recommendable for other travellers.
Ooty is a beautiful place for vacation and has many tourist attractions. But the hotel, The Queens Residency was not a good option for people like us who don't have their own vehicle. It is very far from the main city, so you have to shell out a lot of money to roam around. Even local buses drop you at a stop which is kilometers away from the hotel. The road that leads to hotel is very bad, with no street lights. Hotel service is too bad. Rooms are spacious, but very dirty. Food was average. But the hotel guys arranged many activities for guests such as horse riding, bonfire etc.
Ooty is an mazing place weather vise. We have not booked any hotels before hand and reaching to ooty we came across Queens residency. Though prices are mentioned 3000-4000 on net sites but we maneged to get two 2-double bed rooms side by side for a group of nine persons for 1200/per room. That was preety cheap considering the awsome resort location between the mountains and just 3 km from charring croos. At charring cross the prices are exhorbitant (3000+ even for medumi class hotels). So, if one has his own vehicle its better to stay a bit ar from the main town.
The rooms were very good and neat and clean. The breakfast was also very good, which I got complementary free. The only main concern is it is far from city approximately 5 km and at night time it is difficult to go because the roads were not in a good condition.
