Rabdentse Residency Reviews
Everything was good in the hotel. The food was tasty in the hotel. The food quality was nice in the hotel. The variety of food was provided by the hotel. The staff’s behaviour was co-operative in the hotel. The location of the hotel was very nice. The garden was available at the hotel. The outside view was wonderful from my room. The activity was not conducted by the hotel. I would suggest this hotel to provide Wi-Fi facility. I would like to recommend this hotel for upcoming travellers.
Excellent dining facilities like homemade food. Hotel staff are very nice. Facilities are very nice and comfortable. View of Kanchendzonga is very nice from the rooms. Snacks served were very nice, room service was very good. The sightseeing arrangement was satisfactory. In a whole, it was a very pleasant experience.
Hotel is good in terms of watching Kanchenjunga from hotel room. But entrance of the hotel is very difficult for old & for the person who are having knee problems. Food is very good especially Bengali food is very good. Other facilities are average.
Visited spelling for two nights just to have a closer look to mount Kanchenjunga. After witnessing intense foggy conditions in Darjeeling from tiger hill, I was fortunate to witness Kanchenjunga from this petite budget hotel in lower pelling. Choose base category room and was fortunate to be offered room 301. The balcony of which gave me a clear view of Kanchendzonga on a clear day. The hotel was under renovation at that time so had some restrictions on using bathrooms as well. Don't expect luxury from this place but yes cleanliness was spot on. Towels provided through appeared to be clean, we didn't use them. No toiletries provided as well. It was a no fuss hotel I would say. Food was limited in variety and just a little expensive in pelling terms. Nevertheless, it was always freshly prepared. Would recommend for the view which this hotel offers.
I was confused with mixed reviews about the hotel and the place, but the experience was different. The hotel is located in the lower Pelling which has a great view of mountains. The only challenge is, that you need to go downstairs to reach the hotel. If you have senior citizens, then it is difficult for them to climb the stairs after getting down. If you are expecting a lavish treatment like 3 stars and above, I would recommend not to go for this. I would recommend to book a suite, if you want to stay in the hotel, as they are very spacious. Kanchenjunga is pretty close from Pelling and the view from the hotel is awesome if the sky is clear. There are few staff in the hotel who'll take care of your needs, however do not expect too much. The food cooked by the staff is homely and they don't have much of options in vegetarian. We stayed there for a night and the experience was good.
Wonderful people to have stayed with. I've stayed at various hotel as I travel a lot. But never seen such warm welcome & hospitality. The manager is a very kind & sweet person. So down to earth and caring. He even made dinner for us specially. In spite of having a cook just to give us a wonderful experience he cooked for us as well and arranged taxis for us when we required it the most. I'll advice not to miss their "Aloo ke parathe" it's too good to resist. Staff Boy (Siddharth), I still remember his name. A sweet little young boy very enthusiastic to work and serve you within a minute of call he is at your door step. I had a super stay their. Wish all the luck to them and hope I get a chance to visit again I'll surely stay there again.
Location wise it was very good. This hotel located inside the city. This place is little congested. Welcome drink was not provided. Both North Indian and south Indian foods served. Dining room was excellent. Complimentary breakfast was limited. I booked four rooms, it was very good. I had a good view from my room. The behaviour of the staff in the hotel was excellent and they were helpful. No entertaining activities were provided.
Hotel Rabdentse Residency, Pelling is located in a very beautiful place. Reception is pleasant, good hospitality of the staff. Beautiful view of the Kanchenjunga range from the hotel premises is a great scenic views. Excellent and tasty food as compared to other hotels. The International Organization Youth Hostel Association of India also prefers to stay here. It was a wonderful experience staying here.
We were 3 couple group from kolkata and had great time in rabdents residency. The manager Mr. Nayek was a very friendly person. The room was clean and specious. The washroom also was fine. The best part of this hotel was food. The taste of food was awesome. The hotel was decorated by some orchid plant. The service was good. Its a good place for family to stay for a couple of days.
Not good location as it was underground. Service was excellent. Manager was on leave so the chef was acting like one and did quite a good job. Food menu was limited and place was scary as it was isolated from the main city. View from the hotel room was superb. Overall, below average experience.

I would just say...this is my best holiday so far.
Pelling was our main destination (of 3N 4D) though we stayed different places in this trip. This time, our purpose was to spend quality time with family and not to rush. This hotel selection was not automatic choice however, different feedback and mostly the professional but homely attitude of Mr. Suman Mukherjee really helped me to take decision. The location of upper & lower Pelling does not make any sense unless it has open view. From that standpoint, this hotel has very good advantage of having wide open view heading towards the Himalayas snow peak. We, three families were staying in three suit rooms (Queen's necklace, King's Crown, Knight's armour) and it has amazing view from all three suit rooms. To be precise: Queen's Necklace - big size room with separate sitting area having wide open view (through 12 ft approx. wide glass window) in the front and Kanchenjunga view from the side however, since it has big open window, so no obstacle to see the peaks. The other window let you have sunlight in the room and bed. King's Crown - big room with separate sitting area (seems little smaller than Queen's necklace). It has snow peak (including Kanchenjunga) view from bed , wide open view from room. Knights Armour - little smaller room with separate sitting area. It has snow peak (including Kanchenjunga) view from bed as well from sitting area. Other than these suit rooms, superior rooms are also having Kanchenjunga view from bed or having balconies. Hospitality is excellent, always ready to serve with smiley face and Mr. Nayak manages the whole show pretty well. Hotel has very good strategic location, close to ATM, restaurant etc but not at the road side so away from city noise. Helipad, is about 30 min up-hill walking distance, 2 min walking distance to have open panoramic view of snow peaks. Hotel itself serves quality food.
We have visited the place with a our big family and had a complete holiday exeperience. Every day spent is quite cherishable. The view from the hotel and their hospitality is worth a mention. We only reached the nearest station from their till the drop back we were completely taken care by the hotel authority including sightseeing which enhanced the exeperience as it was quite hassle free.
I stayed in Rabdentse Residency, Pelling along with my wife and daughter during 26.10.2011 to 28.10.2011 and staying there was like being in a relative’s or friend’s house where I experienced the feelings of home away from home. For booking of accommodation I just submitted query in www.holidayiq.com after which Mr Anirban Chakrabarty on behalf of the management contacted me and the rest was very easy as they are good friends of me by this time. The hotel, Rabdentse Residency is located in lower Pelling and the room, King’s Crown, in which I stayed, was specious and well decorated with modern amenities from where the view of the Mt. Khang –Chen-Dzonga (Kanchenjunga) and other snow peaks in the morning was awesome. I think from most of the rooms and also from the open space beside the dining hall, the boarders can enjoy such marvelous view of mountain ranges and also the magnificent beauty of the nearby valley. The Manager, Mr P. C. Nayek is an excellent person whose helping hand was always extended towards our service. He is there to help the boarders in all possible ways, may it be fixing their tour plan or arranging the vehicle or even suggesting the menu for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The service of the hotel was very prompt in any requirement and quality of service was excellent. All the staffs were well-mannered and always ready to serve with a smiling face which obviously touched me and my family. Our two day’s trip to Pelling was fantastic mainly because of the weather condition but we enjoyed this grand tour mostly because of our stay at Rabdentse Residency.
Excellent staff always smiling and at your service. Clean rooms and toilets. Personal interest taken by the hotel manager Mr Nayak in looking after and seeing to your requirements.
