Posted 20 Sep, 2010

Drove down from Bangalore with my wife for a 3 day vacation.Had heard quite good reviews of the resort from my friends who had gone there a couple of years ago, but wasn\'t too sure what to expect because that was a strictly guy\'s only trip. Be warned that the drive on to the actual resort area is rather steep but that adds to the charm of the place. The location was beautiful and the property is clean and well maintained .The food was superb ( its a buffet ) . I can vouch for the tastiness of the veg side and my wife for the non - veg side.Breakfast is complementary and they throw in any snacks you want before lunch or tea if you ask politely. The staff are extremely friendly and courteous. I have rarely seen staff at any resort going out of their way to help you in so many little ways. The resort is ideal if you are looking at a few days seclusion from the city amid calm and scenic surroundings. The resort had the best scenic spots that we saw in the 3 days that we spent in Wayanad The rooms were comfortable if a little basic. The bathrooms were excellent and clean. The cottages have a nice wooden sit out where you can lie down and soak in the view. Overall a good experience and well worth the money.

We had read about Rain Country Resorts and seen a few photographs of the place. What met us was far better than what we had expected. The approach to the resort is through a pretty decent track amidst the forests and it gives the first feel of what awaits one at the resort. You pass some tea gardens and then end up in the resort in the middle of the forest away from the hustle bustle of life. The resort is a place where one can spend some time relaxing and chilling out. The adventurous can go for a trek into the forest or climb to the hill top while the rest can stay in the resort just relaxing. This is a place where one can spend hours communing with nature and soaking in its beauty. When we had gone, this place was spilling over with clouds rolling in from the hills. This made the whole place very dream like. Over all, I\'d say that we had an exceptionally good time. I would definitely recommend this resort.

Amazing stay and good ambience

Posted 28 Dec, 2015

I will never forget the stay in this resort. Wonderful location with no contact with modern life. Most wonderful ambience. Very good food, so kind hospitality. Rooms were neat and clean, very well furnished. Excellent part is approaching the resort with your spouse late night alone in car.

Excellent resort located in a small valley with a freshwater pond to swim in or do boating. The service was also excellent with very accommodating staff. Food is decent but limited since the Kitchen is small. Losts of greenery and so far there are few cottages all hidden around the mountains. Lots of opportunity to go trekking around.
