Rain Forest Retreat Reviews
I stayed in Rainforest Retreat with family for relaxation. The check in and check out process was done on time. The location of the home stay was easy to locate. The home stay provided with food and it was delicious and tasty. There were activities provided. The room of the home stay was good, neat and comfortable with all amenities but TV was not....Read More
We went with group of friends. The place and location is amazing. It's a tree house just adjacent to a river. The only problem we faced was, we took 2 cottages and in one of them there were too many ants on floor which gradually crawled on bed. So we all had to shift in one cottage. But since we were group of friends we didn't mind doing that. It's....Read More
It was among the most cherish-able stays we ever had!! We were a family of 2 adults and 2 children who had a whale of a time here in Dec.\'11. Every moment was full with curiosity and peace of mind. It is at such places where a city dweller in me could find the solace, peace, tranquil and self resurrection. One could experience here the knowledge o....Read More
Thrilling. The ambience was good. For bachelors it\'s good spot to relax and get acquainted with rain forest .
Awesome resort, wonderful service and food.
Very good. The vibe is bohemian and hippie-like, the hosts are extremely affable and the place is stunning.
Great stay but lacked some facilities. We really felt that we should have stayed for a longer period to feel the retreat.
The location was ideal and we had a stay which was undisturbed by TV, mobile etc.The place is surrounded with dense vegetation and has a variety of flora and fauna.
coorg is a nice place very nice location covered with hills estates coffee plants it was a very peaceful stay wonderful experience fod was great it is a budget hotel service was great over all it was a good experience.
This is not a general \'vacationing place\' come here if you are interested in nature, are looking for a quiet surrounding away from e-mails and conference calls or happen to be interested in organic farming. The first two definitely applied in our case - consequently we found this a fantastic experience. Do not come if you are looking at a lot of....Read More

This retreat has not been primarily designed for tourism. Its an organic farm run by a couple who have added 4 rooms to let people come and see what they do and enjoy the place. They have 2 kinds of accomodadation-plantation and Deluxe cottages. The Deluxe are by far more comfortable of the two but the plantation cottages are perfectly located within the rainforest property. You have to walk through the plantation to get to the cottage and its adventurous at night. Its fun if you like adventure. If you are travelling with kids, the Deluxe Cottage is better. Don\'t look for activities, you are close to no town, your cell phone won\'t work, enjoy long walks and fabulous views. The food is simple and incredibly tasty. They bake their own bread, and the butter the cheese is all homemade so enjoy your breakfast ! The staff are courteous and smile a lot. Ask them to guide you for some walks. be warned- they over estimate your level of fitness and suddenly start walking uphill to show you some lovely views but if you\'re not a habitual walker, it can be too much.
The resort is in the midst of lush green coffee/pepper plantations. As one moves further along the road after Club Mahindra Resorts in Coorg, we find the road narrowing into pleasant green slopy outfields of coffee and pepper plantations. Just as we begin to wonder if we have lost the way somewhere, the car reaches the promised green gate. The rooms are well designed, set amidst a small stream, which you cross on a wooden bridge to reach the common dining place. Food is served here, breakfast, lunch and dinner with mostly vegetarian delights. No a-la-carte. Food is good, while coffee is not. Coffee, tea or milk and the periodic juices are served at the rooms. However, the rooms do not have telephones and no mobile phone services have reach to this place. The resort promises tranquility and peace, which is what it delivers, though it may be difficult staying with children. The promoters of the resort have a NGO, which is actively spearheading the cause of organic farming. It is a trekkers paradise, with good trekking guides suiting your need and capacity.
This is not a general \'vacationing place\' come here if you are interested in nature, are looking for a quiet surrounding away from e-mails and conference calls or happen to be interested in organic farming. The first two definitely applied in our case - consequently we found this a fantastic experience. Do not come if you are looking at a lot of \'activities\' or are expecting a resort-like atmosphere. We stayed for one night but I would recommend this place for at least two nights. Make sure you have a vehicle with you - as this place is away from the main Madikeri town.
Brilliant place to be!.....great drive to the destination although it can get a little difficult if you are reach after dark , like we did...could do with some more road signs specially in the last 4 kms.Very relaxing place, cottages are well made, superb food and super walkimg inside the plantation
