"The hotel was not good"

4.0/7
Posted 2 months ago

I had visited this hotel for personal purpose. The hotel was not good. The activities were not arranged by the hotel. The room price was expensive. I would not recommend this hotel for upcoming travellers. The appearance of the hotel was good. The food was not available in the hotel.

The hotel is located in the city centre and near to the Ranthambore Park. The food is excellent and the staff were very helpful and they are always alert with the park timing so that clients cannot lose their Jungle Ride to see the Tiger. Mr. Joshep is a very kind person and do his job with excellency. Great hotel.

We had road trip from Delhi to Ranthambhore, it was great fun in the drive with me & my brothers family. The Hotel is situated in a very convenient location and we found absolutely no hassles in getting there. Mentioning this, because next morning we got some sad stories of travellers who could not reach their hotels and had to stay in their car wi....

The hotel was about ten km from the railways station. There were cab facilities at this hotel. There was a temple by its surroundings. The tariff was above fifteen hundred. The food was really good and averagely and tasty. The staff and services at this hotel were helpful and friendly. The rooms that were provided by the hotel were spacious and hel....

"Spacious room; average food"

The rooms were spacious and had huge windows that allowed natural light to come in. All basic amenities were there in the resort. Another great thing was hygiene. The food was just about average with not much variety. Evening tea/ coffee had some biscuits like Monaco and glucose biscuits! The staff is courteous but overzealous to serve only foreign....

"Tiger & a tigress Spotted on 9th Feb, 2009 at 7:15..."

6.3/7
Posted 8 years ago

Tiger & a tigress Spotted on 9th Feb, 2009 at 7:15 am IST (Morning Safari, before entering Route No. 3). Day 1: Was a waste because the Cab we booked from Jaipur to Sawai Madhopur, took us through a much longer route (approx 100km more) and we missed our evening Safari. (People... Jaipur to Sawai Madhopur is just 150-160kms... the other route is 260Kms... Beware of people who take you for a ride! Research well before you travel to any place). Day 2: We got route Route no. 1 & 4 for the Morning & Evening Safaris respectively. (Did both Safaris in a Canter) Day 3: Early in the morning (at around 5 a.m.), we fought with the official at the Tourist Office for Route no. 3 because he was giving us route no. 4 again. Route no. 3 has maximum tiger sightings so the officials at the booking office keep that route aside for VIPs & foreign tourists. But we finally got route no. 3 after much persuasion. We entered half an hour late into the park (well... not everyone gets up on time... lol); even before entering route no. 3, a tiger jumped right in front of our Gypsy and crossed the road. Seconds later, a tigress crossed the road, this time from behind our Gypsy & both disappeared into the dense forest cover. Later, we got a glimpse of the tigress through the dense trees, sitting on top of an abandoned structure and then jumped off in the opposite direction. We waited a while for them to come out again after they had finished mating, but they never came out. It was a dream come true! :) I'd like to inform all the tourists visiting Ranthambore that any hotels that claim 'Book a room in our hotel & we'll get you a gypsy' is a big fat lie! (I know this from experience & also because my friend's relative resides in Sawai Madhopur/Ranthambore) For safaris, Canters are available very easily but booking a gypsy is a real pain. Option 1: (Prior to your visit) You book Gypsies online through http://www.rajasthantourism.gov.in/ (Bookings have to be done 15-20 days prior to your visit to Ranthambore because Gypsies get booked really fast!). But I don't quite know how the routes will be assigned to gypsies booked online. Option 2: (On the Spot) When you're in Ranthambore, an hour or two prior to your safari, go to the Tourism Office and wait in a Queue. If you're lucky enough, you'll get yourself a Gypsy. The Govt. keeps 3-4 Gypsies aside for VIPs and are released last minute if they go unbooked. Else you always have the option of booking a seat in the Canter. Max. 6 members accommodated in 1 Gypsy

" The food was excellent."

5.6/7
Posted 5 years ago

A last minute decision and a SOS call to our friend Biju at TWX Delhi for help and we were on our way to Ranthambhore National park all the way from Mumbai. Base Ranthambhore Regency hotel. Relishing Rawat ki kachori in Jaipur and with a mind for some adventure we boarded the Rajasthan roadways bus to Tonk and from there another connecting bus to Sawai Madhopur. We still managed to reach hotel at 1pm still an hour before the Safari pick up. We were given a very comfortable room in the corner of the main building, overlooking the pool. The welcome drinks were more than welcome at that time. The food was excellent. The restaurant captain informed very politely that the food is cooked with less oil and not very spicy. He requested us to inform him if we wanted spicier food he would get it done in the kitchen for us. But we liked what was served, mild on spices but very tasty. Special thanks to all the staffs of the restaurant, the captain and Anilji who keeps on running between the tandoor to tables only to make sure that all the guests are served piping hot rotis!!

Ranthambhore Regency Overview

Ranthambore Regency is set amidst two acres and is located 10 km away from the Ranthambore National Park on the route connecting the National Park to Sawai Madhopur.
