We visited this hotel with family for a holiday trip. The overall hotel experience was good. They had a good and well maintained garden with blooming flowers. The lobby was also good. The hotel was located a little far from Santiniketan. Room had WiFi and all the amenities were in working condition. I would definitely recommend this to others.

The garden was not available at the hotel. The appearance of the hotel was good. The staff's were well behaved in the hotel. The overall experience of the hotel was good. Everything was good at the hotel. All the facility provided in the room in working condition. There was no activity arranged by the hotel. I don't have any suggestion for this hotel. I had booked room at the hotel by online. I would like to recommend this hotel to upcoming travellers.
I visited this place with my wife last April. The place is ideal for a quiet and peaceful weekend. The rooms are neat. The toilets are clean. The location is close to the Vishwa Bharati university . . The staff is courteous. The food is traditional Bengali dishes and well prepared. The breakfast consisting of "luchi' and "aloo" was unforgettable. The staff were prompt in bringing tea whenever ordered. The atmosphere is almost homely. They also provided us with a regular supply of mineral water bottles as required by us . You can spend time on the big balcony which has nice seating arrangements. The front garden is beautifully made The staff even arranged a car to take us back to the station as was required by us.
It is a pleasure in penning a few lines in praise of Ratera Tara Dinero Rabi Guest House, a really distinguished guest house where I had the privilege of spending a few last winter days. My heartfelt appreciation begins with the name of the Guest House. It has been coined from a well-known Tagore song, which has the message of acceptance of life and nature as they are. It may be recalled here that the poet wrote this song and set it to tune when he was in a voyage through the tumultuous China Sea. The impending peril of the ship and the voyagers distracted all but the poet, who could maintain the calm of his inner self and create such a wonderful lyric. The song speaks of the eternal order of light and darkness, bliss and sorrow of life. The name of the guest house thus touches such a cosmic height. The very first look of the guest house strikes a joy in the heart of a sensitive border that is offered an amazing sight of the Eden Garden with thousands of blossoming flowers all around the path from the gate to the entrance of the building. It is evident that the work of horticulture there is not a mere business oriented decoration. It is the creation of a genuine lover of gardens. The riot of colours along with the lush green plots engages us so much that we forget for the time being that we have to sign register and look over the rooms we are allotted. After the necessary formalities, I entered the room furnished fully with all conceivable modern amenities. My wistful eyes were glued on to two musk-like faces sculptured on two opposite walls. Tired I lay down on the neatly prepared bed and looked up. A second surprise was awaiting me on the ceiling with sparsely done frescos there. I wondered how these works could have a place in a guest house. At the dining hall it was all a delicious experience. The variety of the breakfast lunch and dinner would suit all tastes. I must admit that it suited my choosy gastronomy. It is 4 km away from the Bolpur railway station and 1. 25 km from the Ashrama. This distance is a blessing in disguise, for it is far away from the madding crowds and free from all sorts of pollutants-air dust and noise. How I wish to be there again.
Santiniketan is a great place to relax and to be with yourself. Its the place to unwind yourself from the pace of city life. My travel to Saantiniketan always give me that inner peace Rater Tara Diner Rabi gives the perfect ambience for that. Very homely and the best part is the beautiful garden in front of the guest house. Even better when its in full bloom. Staff are very friendly and so is the. They have free WiFi, comfy rooms (stay at first floor), food is homely (but try eating outside also - Santiniketan have some great eateries, Sakuntala, Banalakshmi and there is another restaurant just beside the movie hall in shantiniketan), car parking is also no problem. We stay there during most of our visits in Santiniketan. The place is a bit pricey but we love the place. Ask the hotel for arranging a Baul song evening. Every time we go there we try to arrange one and its so refreshing. You need to pay the Baul team separately as guest house does not pay that. But its not so expensive ( you need to negotiate). Also you can try Adivasi dance and songs (local tribal dance and songs). I have never tried though. They (the tribals) try to charge more (you need to bargain heavily). Also try for the Saturday Haat (market). It will be a great experience near the Khowai. You can also visit the Kopai river and if you are lucky you can get a Baul singer there. Sit there, have tea and listen to bowl song (you need to pay the bowl). The experience will be worth it. Please take a trip to the University with the guides available. The guides come with a price but the experience will be worth it. You will get to know the richness and history of Santiniketan and Rabindra Nath Tagore.
This was my 2nd stay at. We had aged parents along with and so quite apprehensive about their comfort. The resort looks very good amongst a beautiful garden with rare cacti, a comfortable swing etc. The food quality, serving and menu were excellent and specially to mention the pantry staff and the manager who were very friendly and well behaved. Location wise, the resort is situated away from the crowd and jammed roads from station and khoyai, prantik and shayorbithi are nearby. Improvement is requested in the rooms, we stayed in room no. 1, 3 and 7. Both 1 and 3 have worn out looks, the bathrooms need renovation. The bed linens were clean, but discoloured. Same with the towels. New sets are needed. Room no. 7 was better, but there were too many stairs inside the room and my 75yrs old father felt uncomfortable regarding the same. The resort surprisingly runs on inverter and not generator. We had to spend one full night and part of morning without power as the inverter gave away due to excessive load shedding. We had been told that it was full and final payment when we transferred the full amount in advance, but at the time of final billing service tax was charged separately but no formal bill was issued. My opinion if service tax is being charged, proper printed bill with bill no. May kindly be issued to guests. I would definitely want to revisit.
Initially I did not find any difficulty in reaching the hotel since it was appropriated situated. The staff were quick to attend and the appearance was fine. The rooms were neat and clean but not spacious. All amenities provided were in operational condition but no view was grasped. Food was excellent with lots of varieties but no activities were arranged. No problem in check-in and check-out process. Overall, stay was value for money and definitely I propose this hotel for others travellers. I suggest to improve still more varieties since only Bengali food was available. This was a relaxation trip with family and I am from Calcutta.
