We had a decent involvement with the Ratnawali Camps. The tents are extremely clean and their administrations exceptionally incite. Radiator was given in the camp. They likewise had water warmer in the had intricate menu for supper and breakfast. The nourishment was extremely heavenly. The social system was amazing. Camel ride and desert safari was taken into consideration. Everything was taken care by the management on the entire. The illustrious passageway with flower petals and drums made us feel like an extremely extraordinary individual entering a quarter. It was a secured spot to put in night. We delighted in a night with Rajasthani mehfil and a DJ Party. The tents are exceptionally perfect. Phenomenal administration and sustenance. Late night bonfire finished our night amazingly. Best place to feel the desert night.
Firstly the welcome was warm, all the staff were very helpful. After the camel safari the evening Cultural programme was conducted. Fire breathing, fire pot dancing, and folklore songs. Nice spicy food in the cold time was good, but could have been better. Major disadvantage is that the camp is actually situated quite far from the actual Sam dune. Overall it was a pleasant stay.
The room I stayed in was also average with required amenities. The hotel was located far from the main city. There were no complications in checking services. The appearance of the hotel was excellent. In November month I dowelled in this hotel. There were no activities in the hotel. I did not take food in the hotel. Overall it was a good stay. The working staff in the hotel were good in providing services. It was my family trip. It was my one day trip to the hotel. It was an open environment in the dessert area.
We stayed in Ratnawali Camps for the night of 26th October 2014 and it was a pathetic experience. First of all, the location. It is not located in Sam. It is at quite some distance from Sam, so don't be fooled by that. Also, except for a single blink and miss sign board on the main road, there are no signboards on the dirt road that leads you up to the camp which is located at least 2 km from the main road. The scaled Swiss tent did not even have a table fan. Though a fan is not required at night during the month that we travelled, but for daytime you surely do. The package cost was inclusive of a free Camel Safari and we were told at the time of booking, that this Safari will take place in morning. However, on arrival we were told that the Camel Safari will take place in the evening so that we can also enjoy the sunset. We kept patiently waiting but no one turned up for this Safari. By the time it was just a few minutes into the sunset, we went to inquire and were told that the Safari will be done in the morning and not evening. If we had been clearly informed about this earlier, we could have done during the noon and early evening, rather than spending time in the hot tent. The morning Camel Safari was nothing but a mere eyewash. The camel guy provided by Ratnawali takes you from the main road up to the point where the desert starts and then tells you that your package Safari concludes here. He told that if we want to go on a camel ride in to the desert, he would be charging Rs. 600/- extra! People come to Jaisalmer to have a camel safari on the desert and not on the road. These people are too good at cheating. The cultural program and folk dance in the evening started off really well but was soon taken over by bollywood / DJ songs. The only saving grace was the quality of dinner, which we were fearing about, after the previous experiences. There are much better alternatives to stay in Sam. You just need some time to explore your alternatives before booking and probably help from a previous visitor or a local to avoid such an experience.
This was a newly created tent when we visited. The tent is located a bit away from the busy main road thus giving you peace and silence throughout the day. Sam sand dunes are 4-5 km away and Jeep facility is provided by the tent to reach there Traditional Rajasthani activities with folk dance conducted during evening reminds you of the Royal lifestyle of Maharajas which is enjoyed sitting on comforters placed around a camp fire along with Snacks. Dinner served is no comparison, the best one I ever had on my trips Overall, a must have experience !!
