Enjoy the views but the service is bad

4.6/7
Posted 11 Mar, 2014

We booked a valley view plus room and stayed in this hotel for 2 days. As I mentioned, the location of this hotel is too good; one can enjoy a beautiful view from the room. Room size is good enough for two people. The interior of the room was pretty good, which made the stay pleasant and relaxing. We did not try the swimming pool as it was cold in December, but the pool was neatly maintained. However, it was very small for such a big hotel. Now, let me put the facts straight:. 1. The hotel meets expectations if you are going with your subfamily as you will get privacy to spend good quality time . 2. The food is very good. If you are non-vegetarian, then you must try crispy chicken . 3. Amenities such as table tennis and carrom are available free of cost whereas you will have to pay a little amount for using the billiards table . Cons:. The staff is courteous but very lazy when it comes to service (Service in this hotel is pathetic) I am not really convinced on the price I paid to stay in this hotel, I found his little expensive vis. A vis. The facilities and services they provided There was no one to receive us at the reception and we had to request the hotel for picking our luggage from the car (ideally this should have been taken care by the hotel without even asking). 4. The booking system is a bit traditional. They do not have tie up with many leading websites for room booking as we had to deposit the full amount in their account to confirm the booking. The credit card booking application does not seem to be much secure . My tips to the travellers:. Go for Valley view plus or Executive room only Try food (especially dinner) at any restaurant in Panchgani market, Most of the restaurant serves good food (try Chinese food as I found it better then the local food). Buy fresh vegetables such as broccoli and carrots from Panchgani market as it is cheap and organic If you are going towards Mahabaleshwar, then don't buy strawberries from there as you will get good strawberries from Panchgani at a much cheaper rate . 5. Carry warm clothes as it is always cold there . I will keep this hotel as an option and suggest it to my friends and family. I have heard that there are some other good hotels as well. Will try those as well .

The Ravine is perched on what could possibly be the most enviable piece of real estate in the dreamy, romantic hills of Panchgani, about 4,500 feet above sea level. It is a 3 star hotel in Panchgani and every rupee, dollar or pound invested in grabbing yourself a valley facing room is money well spent. I felt like I was starring in the lead role of my very own romantic movie during my stay at the Ravine; it almost forces you to want to fall in love. And their lagoon cum Bedouin like open air patio with its generous dollops of sand and tents didn't help either, it made me want to go down on bended knee and propose to just about anyone in sight! Their tennis court has comfortably seated itself so perilously close to the edge of the cliff that it almost guarantees an alarming loss of tennis balls. In fact, I'm sure that Andre Agassi and Roger Federer would have simply loved to carry forward the last set of their infamous Burj-Al-Arab face-off on the Ravine tennis court! The management of this fine hotel often boasts about hosting the occasional Bollywood superstar, though, in my view, it doesn't really need to invest in an advertising budget. If you want to indulge in a pre-honeymoon love fest, this is the place to be, especially between May and September for all those couples who are taking this all in. This delectable indulgence is strictly for the aesthetically sound who like grabbing themselves the occasional nature cum landscape combo meal every once in a while! In a nutshell, the Ravine Hotel, Panchgani is truly a treasure trove of a discovery for all those pirates suffering from wanderlust, in search of peace and tranquility, beauty and truth.

Wonderful holiday! We had great family rooms which were nice & comfy: large, airy and very well maintained. Decor was rich, elegant and tastefully done. Location of the resort is great with just about everything included and available as guest facility. Very good value for money.

Awesome & most memorable stay

7.0/7

A heavenly stay and most desirable outing for all with a beautiful scenic overlook of the divine valley. The hotel ambience and hospitality is a must to mention along with the outdoor activities to keep your. Little one busy and exploring while. You can have a magical moment alone with your partner. This hotel alone speaks for itself in terms of service and location which is eternal. The complimentary breakfast is truly filling with awesome a-la-carte lunch and dinner. The dance float is certainly one of the most scenic float I have seen in my life. The hotel is decently priced for the service provided. It is a must stay yearly for all mumbaikars. 3 cheers for Hotel Ravine and it's team. Highly recommended.

Overall experience about the hotel was quite good. The best thing about this place is the view.. Magnificient.. for those who like serenity, you can just sit and gaze out of your window.. just take in the sun, the greenery, the valley, the clouds, breeze climate wow.. The rooms are quite cosy and comfy and you dont need to move out at all.. excellent room service, are much more quick in their response than many other hotels i have stayed at. The appearance is a bit old world but it certainly matches in the overall location.. they have the table land as the backdrop and the Panchgani market is like 20 mins.. so yeah overall a very pleasant experience
