I went to Kumbakonam in the month of September 2016 and made my stay in the Raya%5C%27s Hotel Annexe. It was my religious trip with family. I would rate the destination as very good. I would rate the location as average. I would rate the appearance of the hotel as good as it is very clean. The staff at the reception was average. I booked my room through online. The house keeping services in the hotel were very good but need to extend the availability. The rooms at the hotel were average. The food which was served in the hotel was good, we can have a large menu of items.
The purpose of our visit was to celebrate the first birthday of my granddaughter at Uppiliappan koil. We had booked 8 rooms, 2 months in advance. When we landed we were given rooms in different floors and no two rooms were adjacent. Every room meant for double occupation had single towel and soap. No other toiletries were provided. Hotels everywhere nowadays provide complimentary breakfast. But here they don't even have a restaurant. You have to cross the road, and go through a dark passage in their sister hotel and reach a restaurant at the back. The service here is as bad and the quality of the eats is average and there is no variety. I will not never ever stay in this hotel nor will I recommend to anyone.
I liked the service, the room and location is the best. The location is a walkable distance from the temple. The hotel has a restaurant with veg and non-veg food and food is very tasty. Pick up and drop and parking space is available. No activities are available. It is a very much recommendable hotel.
Raya group of hotel Annexe is very near to Kasi Visvanathan Temple and Maha Magum Tank. The rooms are quite good. Room service and front office staff are excellent. For local sightseeing, they have drivers to take us around for visiting temples. Car parking is also available.
We stayed here for few hours .Our overall experience was very good, the front office arranged a taxi for lacal temple visit ,they also arranged veg food. The rooms are clean and spacious . We would love to come here again and spend some more time seeing the temples .
Top Reviews of Raya's Hotel Annexe
I stayed at Hotel Rayas Annexe for nearly a week. The hotel itself is very modern with great finishings and has been very well maintained. There are 3 room types available - standard, studio and deluxe, mainly differing in size of living areas. I stayed in a studio room at R1800 + tax / night. The room was spacious with clean bedding, dining table for meals, modern A/C, fans in room, bathroom and dressing room; good hot water available 24 hours, separate dressing area and wardrobe for clothing, and flat screen tv. Rooms are very well maintained with no cockroaches or insects that you commonly find in other hotels. The hotel offers room service, prepared at restaurant in older Rayas hotel across the road. Checkout is 24 hours. In terms of location, the hotel is easy to find and well known by local residents. Next door there is a shop selling small groceries, toiletries and snacks.
I am basically a service women from Belgium. Since 25 years i am coming to india for helping poverty slum peoples. I built houses for poor peoples around kumbakonam and chennai area. Since 20 year visitng to kumbkaonam I am staying at Hotel Raya's for the past 2 years staying new Hotel Raya's Annexe-I very nice location, good management, real worth for the money. Nice food on order basis. I love Indian especially kumbakonam coffee provided by Hotel Raya's its very tasty....
We planned for in and around temple visits to kumbakonam and it was very good. With lots of homework it was easy to plan where we have to go and how to cover most of the temples as kumbakonam itself is called as city of temples. With the help of few website and local maps helped to see all the navagrah temples in a day with not much help. Most of the hotels in kumbakonam offers day trip to navagrahas, but they are quite expensive for a day. If you have come in ur vehicle you can go on your own if you leave early morning @ 5.30 and follow exactly the local maps available infront of all temples. Coming to Hotel Raya's Annexe is the best hotel in town and worth the money and service is really good. I tried booking online the same hotel 15 days before it always said its full. But when we went to check they gave us a good room. Worth to stay.
I had been to Kumbakonam with my family including my parents to visit temples around. We had a pleasant stay at Hotel Raya.Room we took(Std A/C) was simple and spacious for its cost and worth the money spent. Food was\'nt bad, ok. Travel experience was good. Hotel management took no time to arrange a cab for us to go around. the cab cost was also reasonable and the driver we had was very good. Overall experience was pleasant and memorable. My aged parents were comfortable and happy as well.
