Great place, great location, great service. We stayed in the new Raya\'s Annex-1, which appeared better than the old one. Friendly staff, ample parking. No restaurant in this building, but you need to cross a busy street and have food in their main/old building. Room service available though.
We stayed for three days from 1st to 4th July,2011. It was very comfortable and the room service was very good. The room was very clean and it was cleaned daily. The news paper was issued daily early morning. The restaurent was very clean and the food items were good. The lift service was working without breakedown. Overall we enjoyed our stay in the hotel and we recommend to others also.
My stay at this hotel was good and the hotel was located conveniently and best. The appearance of the hotel was good. Check-in and checkout process was done on time. The service provided was very good. The room allotted was spacious but cleanliness was not maintained. The wash room was clean and there were amenities but not that good in working condition. We had nature view from the room. I took veg item from the hotel and the quality was good. We don't know about the activities are available in this hotel. Overall, the destination was very good. I had been for religious purpose with my family.
I like this hotel very much. Good atmosphere. Services in the hotel and rooms are good. Receptionists in the hotel are good response. Nearby temples. Food in the hotel was superb. Everything things regarding this hotel was satisfied. My family members are waiting for the next visit.
Had a lot of apprehensions about quality of hotels in small towns - just picked up this hotel name from TripAdvisor. My earlier experiences of picking hotels at very small towns from some internet site have not been very satisfactory. But we were pleasantly surprised - the service was good, the hotel was decent. The front desk was quite helpful in arranging transport, with everything getting into the hotel bill - unlike the experience reported by another person in this review. The only dissatisfaction I had was on the quality of the restaurant - could have been better with more menu choices, better timings and cleaned more frequently. But Kumbakonam being a small town, possibly the quality of restaurants is driven by demand and the demographic spread of visitors. I have to repeat - the front desk service was very good, rooms were quite clean, bathrooms decently sized, and nothing to complain about except that internet access can be expensive! The location is good - not far from bus and rail stations. The hotel is not centrally air-conditioned - they have the traditional window air-conditioners. They seem to be well maintained, as the noise levels were low - that was one more of my apprehensions. The bathroom had a large geyser ( 35 l ?)- and the control is left to you. so you have the option of 24 hour hot water - which is usually not needed at all in this town. The room we were in had no view - we were not particular and did not ask if there were rooms with a view. I do not see a scope for a room with a view, considering the location of the hotel. The hotel is within walking distance from the famous mahamaham pond, but does not seem to be within walking distance from the famous temple - but I could be wrong there, as I did not actually try at all!
