Sublime execution of peace from networks meeting natural bliss

7.0/7
Posted 21 Jul, 2015

Seeing is believing !!! And when the 17 min chat with the entrepreneurial family's better half was in progress, the painted pictures from her accounts of the property and the limitless zeal to preserve contact within a natural habitat preserving its originality started forming from the very structure of the open English-styled restaurant. The structure resplendence with creepers, plants galore has been preserved to give it an absolute earthy feeling to its benefactors - birds, etc. Its the detail that has been captured by way of preserving any chemical poisoning, the facility has been painted with vegetable paint. The bar, sitting atop a lazy water bank preserving the very backdrop of what a water mass looks like amid-st natural flora and fauna The rooms have no intercom and internet - in a deliberate move to keep the travellers at peace while holidaying. It's a hit for bankers and people with high pressure jobs to take a weekend out, cut-off from known human touch to embrace nature at its purest forms. The Jacuzzi, the Bath and wash, the foyer and the sit-out back complete the absolute lazy recuperation that stressful work inflicted souls, need The pool, though not used much by the inhabitants, is fabulous for a swim. Was there to celebrate our 7th anniversary, and the staff, left no stone upturned. A separate sit out by the pool was organized with a private waiter, flowery embellishments and gastronomical delights from the worldly kitchen Located on the opposite end of Nagarhole National Park, separated by the Kabini River, the coracle ride is exciting and fun to watch with the myriad coloured birds and fauna. The innovative ideas are both simple, yet groundbreaking e. G. The earth dumped in a heap across the restaurant for the swimming pool is being used as a natural stage for performances from the adjoining tribes or guests. The adjoining tribes have been absorbed into the workforce Can go on, but time is a luxury in my profession, hence, can say satisfying, satiating, lazy, pampered experience where you get to learn a bit about nature and catch glimpses of them, its the place to be. Almost like Heaven on Earth !!!

Amazing stay with good facilities

5.1/7

What's the definition of a good resort pretty yes absolutely It's small quirks. The ambience It's rustic. Don't expect posh. Different coloured flowers in the pathway. Well, rough pathway. Backwaters facing property. Quaint cottages with an attached rustic open air Jacuzzi. Could see the Milkyway with the naked eyes. Food is decent, mix of south Indian and North and a little bit of continental. Amazing rasam. Good baker. Relaxing stay. Amazing pool. Chronicled. I loved the dance performance by this tribe. I can still hear them. Magical coracle ride in the back waters during sunset. I had a beautiful stay there. And an even better ride back to Bangalore in the Harley we rented. We did not go the safari. We had to take our own vehicle to another 8 kms or they charged us 800 per person. Didn't think it was worth it. Someone said apparently animals are spotted in December. And the rest of the months are generally quite.

It was a relaxation trip with family

5.8/7

Overall, my experience in this hotel was fantastic. As a destination, Kabini is an average place. Location of the hotel was also average. Hospitality and food was good there. I liked its hospitality very much. Appearance of the hotel was very good. Booking was done through travel agency. We did not face any problem in getting room. Booking and front office staff was good. Service of the staff was very good. Room was also very good. Food and drink was very nice. They had swimming pool, cycling, and some games for children to play and any other activities but they did not give safari. We have to book that. Activity part was very good. I went there with my family for relaxation in the month of March.

Fantastic location and staff; average food

6.0/7
Posted 11 Nov, 2014

Took this vacation with my 3 year old kid and my Brother in laws family who had a 2 yr old kid too. We were very warmly greeted by the Front office when we entered and were checked-in quickly without any hassles The resort is very tastefully made and you know the owner has taken a lot of personal interest in landscaping the whole place. The bar is kind of in an island-like place in the middle of a pond. There is a lotus pond in the middle of the property. The resort is fantastic and very green The rooms are very well done but I was kind of peeved that the bathroom was outside the bedroom, in the wake of the night you have to go outside your room if you have to use the loo and what with it being close to forest, you are bound to have a few creepy crawlies enter your room. It's a small peeve, but I don't understand the design. The Jacuzzi pressure was low as it is all the resorts but the kids had a great time in the Jacuzzi. The staff was fantastic. Even though it was mentioned that there was no room service, they did occasionally on request send food and water as we had 2 toddlers with us Food for me was kind of a disappointment as I expected a more lavish spread like the other premium resorts but my wife on the other hand loved the food. Even the other guests on the property had mixed opinions, with people loving the food and a few saying the food was just okay I would recommend the place to the friends though.

Many activities are arranged

6.1/7
Posted 15 Jul, 2015

The hotel was located far from the city. The pickup was provided by the hotel so I reached easily. The hotel was a river front cottage and the owner also stays in one of the cottages so good care was given. Many activities like coracle ride in river, swimming pool, indoor games and magic show and even safari to sanctuary was provided I enjoyed all the activities to my fullest. I was happy with well maintained room with all amenities with hot and cold water. The room and washroom were cleaned regularly. Only drawback was they didn't provide room service. There was good river view seen from my room. They provide all inclusive plans so good food was also provided. Overall, the stay was worth for money. I would like recommend this hotel for honeymoon couples and wildlife explorers and I myself would like to visit the hotel again.

Red Earth is just pristine and serene nature

5.7/7
Posted 14 May, 2015

If you are looking at a relaxing holiday with your family in a quiet & green environment then this could be the destination, Red Earth at Kabini The resort has a very rustic look yet meets the holiday requirements. Not a typical concrete resort. Thatched roof villa, private Jacuzzi, beautiful garden, exotic flowers, chirping birds and good people around. Kabini River which is very close to the Red Earth is a beautiful quiet place with lots of birds and large amount of water. We all enjoyed cycling on the banks of the river We enjoyed the Jacuzzi and the pool as well. Stayed for 2 nights and felt it was a bit short to enjoy all the facilities. May be a day more would have helped. Wonderful food & great spread. We ate so much that we had to burn calories by cycling & swimming. We had to pay for hiring cycles which could have been complimentary. There is no room service and we carried small eats which helped The owner Mr. Ravi is so passionate about the resort & spends most of his time meeting the guests and taking their views. His presence makes a lot of difference. We all loved Mr. Ravi's cute & charming rottweiler, Lolli Carry your camera and capture the greenery, birds and colourful insects. Keep the doors of the villa closed especially in the evening if you don't like to be in the company of frogs and insects Couldn't experience much places around except for the Tibetan settlement and Monastery. Again a very quiet place. On the way back from Monastery we took the road through the forest area. Though the roads were bad, the forest was really dense and could see many wild animals. But if your tyres are not so good and it is late in the evening, better to avoid Lookout for herds of cattles and goats on the road especially towards evening. Honking won't help, just allow them to give way. Overall, a memorable experience.

Red earth kabini is a Very nice and relaxed place to stay, had memorable time. Excellent ambience, kids friendly, loved passion fruit creepers around the room. Soothing spa . Good customer service. Delicious food, overall it is a value for money. One drawback is that lot of mosquitoes around late evenings.

Wonderful location and good food

5.1/7
Posted 3 Jan, 2016

We got in to the resort on new year's eve for two nights, looking to get away from the bustle and have a quiet and peaceful getaway. The resort per se is fairly clean, well spread out and imbibes their ethos of construction and living as close to nature in this day and age The food was great 2 out of 3 times with a phenomenal spread. Mind you, 2 out of 3 is actually excellent considering the number of palettes the chefs have to cater to Manage to hit the safari, the evening we got in and were quite lucky to spot a tiger, 2 leopards, gaurs, sambars and elephants Ordinarily, I'd totally give this place at least 6 out of 7. However, the premises, services and amenities just don't justify the price tag. Compared to the three other very popular resorts, of which two are in a similar price range, this just doesn't cut it the property is quite well maintained, the private Jacuzzi is alright, the sit out facing the river is wonderful (be sure to request a room facing the river if you intend to visit) Also, a key point to the hotel, simply because you have a bar license, you cannot tell your guests that outside alcohol is prohibited. No law prohibits them from doing so In essence, it's a wonderful property provided, you manage to get them to shave their pricing down a fair bit. Nonetheless, you'll have made a good choice if you decide to visit Red Earth.

Scenic lakeside property

6.6/7
Posted 29 Jan, 2016

We visited Red Earth, Kabini last year in February to celebrate our anniversary and what a lovely time we had The drive from Bangalore is easy and beautiful. We reached around noon and our check-in was very smooth. The owner himself greeted us with a welcome drink and made us feel at home instantly. The cottage was wonderful with an open air Jacuzzi. They do not have television or room service on purpose to make you explore the property more and not just spend the entire time in your cottage which I personally did not care for. I would have loved some room service. But it's just a minor flaw in an otherwise almost perfect set up The food is above average and nothing that you'll go gaga over The prime attraction of Kabini is the wild life safari which they arrange for you at a very reasonable cost and drop/pick up from the starting point All in all, a great weekend getaway and totally worth every penny you spend.

Fun was an understatement in this rustic place

5.6/7
Posted 10 Nov, 2015

The moment we entered this place thrilled us the most. I knew that we were up for a fun packed stay here. The first thing we did after checking in was to go Dhammankatte and take safari tickets. The safari here is not like other safari. It has an open bus and it the duration is for like 1. 5 hours. You better go there at 10AM and book is as soon as possible because the safari tickets run gets sold out very fast. You have chances of spotting a leopard a lot, so yeah be prepared Coming back to the place, it is an awesome one. We were a group of 4 and we took two rooms. Amenities is great. The food was exceptional. I best things about this place is the pool. A good time in the pool would be in the evening or under the afternoon sun Though I initially thought this place was expensive, while heading back home, I felt my money was worth. One thing which could improve a bit is the service. I would definitely go back to this place again.

Excellent place to stay

5.9/7
Posted 29 Jan, 2016

Its an excellent place, 5 hours drive from Bangalore, roads are good except the last 5kms. Its located at the bank of river and view is seen from most cottages (Although it would be better in post monsoon months). Everything there is made and maintained keeping environment in mind which makes this place a fantastic place to relax. Cottages, walkways, trees, flowers and birds. This place has more birds than a bird century and one would hear chirping of the birds throughout the day, you can spot a variety of birds. Even in dining area birds keep hopping here and there. We went to riverside for sunrise and just around the sun rise time there were hundreds of birds randomly flying close to ground, it was a bird riot, an unforgettable experience. Good food, good cottages with a sit-out area and open air Jacuzzi. We could use sit out area only in mornings as it was very warm in afternoon and in evening there were many insects outside, may be having an additional net door covering it would be helpful. We couldn't use Jacuzzi also as after filling water when I turned it on, along with water, jets gushed out hundreds of ants. The best part of the place is staff, the hospitality of every person you meet and talk elevates the entire experience. Every single person I met tries very hard to make your stay comfortable and makes you feel more than welcome.
