The Residency Tower, Trivandrum(Thiruvananthapuram)
South Gate Of Govt. Secretariat Press Road Thiruvananthapuram
I have stayed in Residency for official purposes and with family and since I have stayed in most of the good hotels at Trivandrum, I select this hotel often because of the comfort it offers. Situated in the city centre close to the secretariat and other offices, we don't have to travel much during our visit for official purposes or for sightseeing. The hotel has all facilities like good restaurants serving variety of cuisines, well mannered and professional staff, spacious and neat rooms with good decor, mini bar, LCD television, excellent housekeeping service etc. , a good atrium where we can relax and have discussion with the clients coming to see us, enough parking for our vehicles etc. They offer free WiFi and in addition laundry, concierge and travel desk services. The hotel is equally good for stay with family because of the facilities and easy access to all shopping malls, cinemas, zoo, museums, Padmanabha temple, etc. The roof top restaurant Dhaba is one of the best in the city where we can have a variety of cuisines and the panoramic view of the city from the restaurant is something appealing. My family really enjoyed the dinner and the cuisines.
Hotel and rooms as shown in pics. Neat and clean. I took executive room. I big bed, one sofa, dining table for two, led tv, wardrobe, electronic safe, mini fridge, bathroom with tub and hot water, hair dryer, shampoo, soap, one tooth brush, no comb or other accessories, two water bottle, snacks which you have to pay later, complimentary BF, bar and swimming pool, two restaurants, nice staff. If available always go for meals plan to save huge money. One is Punjabi dhaba opens in evening. Always book online because actual price for executive room is more than four thousand plus extra for five years kid. I recommend this hotel.
Stayed here from 27th Dec 2015 to 28th Dec along with my family. The Room was very good its having all amenities, bed, room and bath are very clean. The out side view is very good. The swimming pool is in 8th floor its clean but same is not available for children. The Service was good. The Staff from front office to admin people are very polite. I had a very good time during my stay in this hotel.
First the bad stuff: The 'executive' rooms have no view or terrible views of neighbouring run-down buildings. This can be depressing if you are here for a few days, or during the day. However, great for one night, and late sleepers. The 'deluxe' rooms have some front facing rooms and have a view. But late sleepers will have traffic problems. Food is really good. Breakfast may be among best and widest choice in Thiruvananthapuram. Lots of food options including the famous Trivandrum Hotel within walking distance. Street of hotel is congested, so those who like grand first-look will be disappointed. Some rooms have a 'lodge' smell - mouldy, old alcohol and cigarettes. There is a huge reflective 'mirror' behind TV which looks suspiciously like a two-way mirror.
It's a perfect place to make the official meetings and marriage eves. You will see a huge and interesting reception with smiling faces, and it's the hotel in the middle of the city and bear to secretariat also. So you can imagine and will see lots of celebrities hanging around there. The food and beverages are good but a bit costly.
