"Resort Location is good, the..."

Resort Location is good, the drive through Mysore was excellent, only the last patch of road was bad. Before reaching the place the scenic beauty raises your expectation levels. We got to the resort and reached our villa, wanted to enjoy Jacuzzi and thats the reason we spent 25K for 2 nights. But the unprofessional helpdesk people of Cafe Coffee Day never told that smaller rooms costing less too have jacuzzi and above all they are inside. Weather spoiled the jacuzzi and there went my money with water. Just because resort people are suppose to help us with information but never shares it with us. Still the boat ride was good but there too I can see the difference, it started raining in between the boat ride and all we can do is nothing but get wet. At the same time saw Orange County boat ride with all having rain coats distributed by good Orange County Staff and enjoying the weather. Similar experience was in Jungle Safari, we had to get wet while sitting in our Jeep but Orange County guys were not at all worrying as they are had rain coats supplied. Rooms are average, I saw nothing which makes me feel spending 25K for 2 days for the villa. Treatment is the same for everyone and you dont get any freebies for giving extra money. I learned about jacuzzi in other rooms only by accident, while checking out we glanced through feedbacks and there was the shock that I spent my money on nothing. If you are planning to go at this place, check for everything and if possible take the resort number and enquire directly about the room. Dont trust the cust support guys of Cafe Coffee Day, they will never give you proper info.

Best Experience: Resort location is nice

Worst Experience: Felt cheated as nobody gave proper info on room facilities and its not even mentioned on website at the time of booking.

"Kabini river and the Nagarhole..."

  • Posted Aug 23, 2009
Kabini river and the Nagarhole forest were fabulous. We thoroughly enjoyed it. We saw herds of elephants, bisons, wild boars, chital deers, alligator and a variety of birds and monkeys. It was definitely experience. I recommend this place to all nature lovers. Cicada resort was another story. I reserved a cottage six months in advance. We arrived at the resort at 1:30 PM and greeted by the manager. He politely informed us that our cottage was given to another customer because we were late. The check in is supposed to be at 4 PM. I think the other customer offered more money or bribe and he gave up the cottage. We were offered a small room but did not give us any refund. They also charged us Rs 750 per person for land safari and river safari. Although the food was included in the price, no one told us that all drinks including water must be paid separately. If you stay there, do not drink any alcohol even if they offer it to you because the charges for alcoholic drinks are astronomical. They are very deceitful. I thought the management is very cut-throat.

Best Experience: The trip to Nagarhole forest and Kabini river.

Worst Experience: Giving away our cottage, booked six months in advance, for no reason. Charging for water when the food is already included in the price. At Rs 12000 per night, it is not exactly cheap in any standard.

"Overall the experience has been..."

Overall the experience has been great. The facilities are great, location is awesome and the rooms are comfortable. Food is average. Service from staff is very poor. Very few know English or Hindi and and not well trained. considering the money they are charging i think the minimum one expects is good service which was not there. Rooms do not have phone. Swimming pool is clean and Gym is well equipped. Cloud 9 therapy is coconut oil massage and nothing great. I found the Ayurvedic massage available at Taj resorts far better.

Best Experience: Location is very good. its just next to JLR. Every room has a view of the river. Safari was nice and comfortable.

Worst Experience: Service from staff is very poor. We had requested them to refigerate a medicine bottle of my kid. they lost the medicine and the nearest pharmacy stocking the medicine was more than 75kms away !!! very irresponsible of them. Very few know English and they really do not know how to make the stay enjoyable. Something they can learn from the staff at Taj Resorts.

"The Resort is stuck in..."

  • Posted Feb 4, 2008
The Resort is stuck in the back of nowhere but that\'s what you expect when you are on a wildlife hunt albeit with your trusted camera. The rooms are good, the service is always with a smile but the food can get a bit on the boring side if you are here for longer than a couple of days.

Best Experience: The boat safari in the morning is a good way to cruise down the kabani river ( but your derrière can come off on the losing side when in contact with the hard seats on a ride that lasts more than 2 hrs). The jungle safari on the other hand has well sprung seats but the gamble is on getting a good guide who can show you a tiger. We missed out on this though the jeep in front of us could get to the tiger tank for a sighting but the gude told us that it was too late to continue...
