We have been in this resort on Valentine Day. We were a group of around 30 couples. The resort is peaceful, good food, clean swimming pool. We also enjoyed adventure activities kayaking, flying fox, river tubing and commando crossing. We stayed in the cottage. The cottage was spacious. Bathrooms and bathtub were also clean. Cottage has a good passage to sit outside in groups. Indoor games are also well maintained. All in all good resort
This resort is ideal for a 2 day getaway! We visited Karjat in a group of 20 family members and thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! We stayed in the cottages that are spacious and well done up! We had a good reason playing games on the lawn and relaxing on the pool!
This resort is perfect for a weekend away from Mumbai. The cottages are fabulous, spacious with decent furniture and interiors! The pool is big and clean. The property is big with ample of greenery and space to chill! We were a group and all our requirements were well accommodated for! Overall a pleasant stay!
My 3 colleagues and me decided to take a time-off and were looking at all the properties in and around Mumbai and finally decided to stay at Rivergate Resort, Karjat. During at that time, we never thought that our weekend will be so good. We started from Dadar by 9: 50 fast local to Karjat. We reached around 11:30 at Karjat and from there had taken two Auto's (each Rs. 250) and reached Rivergate by 12:00. Check-in was smooth. We reached our allotted AC tents and taken some rest. Post lunch we started roaming around the property and were stunned by the location of the property. The property is surrounded on 3 sides by river Peg which is a fresh water river. The property is around 30 acres and the swimming pool is very big. I don't remember seeing any such big pool in any of the resorts where I stayed. The entire property is covered by nature with all kinds of birds here and there. A binocular in hand is a must to watch the birds. Around 3: 30, we spent some time at the river lazing around in the water. The flow was good on Saturday. Later we have taken River tubing for around 1 Km. Once it is over, we had some refreshments. After that there were some games arranged by the resort and tried our hands on Snooker, Carom, Table Iennis and video games. After that there was a DJ arranged by the resort where we tried our dancing skills. Post that we had our dinner and went back to our tents for sleep. Here, I need to tell about the quality of food being offered. The food was pretty good. The service was good. Being a morning person, I woke up around 6:30 and went for a walk around. Mornings are more beautiful than evenings with dew on the grass. Once walk is over around 7:30, I had tea provided by the resort nearby tent. (Surprise! I don't think any of the resort is providing that separately, will be included with breakfast at other places). After some time we had breakfast and spent time at swimming pool. The river water was low on Sunday. After breakfast, tried our hands on badminton. At around 12, we started our journey back. An advice to the travellers : 1. While entering into river, be careful as it is slippery. 2. Take binoculars in hand. 3. For adventurous sports like flying fox or commando be there on Saturday. Make your trip immediately after rainy season as nature will be in it's full. Lastly, congrats for the management as they really know what a customer requires. Things like biscuits, chocolates are available at the printed rates and tea/coffee available at the doorsteps on time.
We had visited to Karjat with a family friend and their kids. It was definitely a nice place with lots of games for all of us. Kids especially enjoyed in the pool and the food was OK and can be improved. The two day of our stay at Rivergate was great and we all had a good time.
I was there for a day's outing with my office staff. We were a group of 55 people. The location is a bit remote. But, once you get to the property, the journey is worth it. We were allocated air conditioned tents. The tents were very clean and the bathroom was excellent being inside the tent. We arrived in the morning and had breakfast which was very good and a lot of options for everyone. We then headed to the river for river tubing which was a great experience as an alternative to river rafting. The property is very green and is very rejuvenating. It is for all age groups. The activities at the resort are ample including flying fox, tennis, cricket. The indoor games room also has a lot of options and unlike many resorts was very well-maintained. The Lunch and high tea were equally good. The Pool is clean and big. There is a bar just by the pool. All in all a wonderful experience and I would definitely come back here to relax.
This is a good place close to Mumbai. Nice tents and rooms. Although we have not stayed in tents since those were under renovations but we saw it has good bathroom fittings etc. Cottage rooms were good, neat and clean. Good food, Jain meal and good activities near by. It's very big property so they need to have some more golf car kind of facilities to roam around and within the campus. Must visit this place.
Had been to Rivergate Resort along with a group of friends towards end of November. The drive is long and refreshing except for a small stretch where the local civic body were remaking the road and had a lot of bumps. Hopefully by now the road must be a dream to drive on. The way to the resort from Karjat is easy however you need to keep a watch out for the Resort boards showing the way. It is easy to miss the left turn to take for the resort. November to February the climate is super cold and jackets/mufflers are advised. Mosquitoes can be a pain however the resort guys smoke the area and then you are set for a nice evening with bonfire and drinks. The food is awesome, specially the spread. Breakfast - don't miss their Omlettes. The rooms are big enough. Head to this place if you want to be away from the city for the weekend.
The hotel is very near to Mumbai and Lonavala and so its quite easy for the family or the groups to go to this location and enjoy. The river is just next to the hotel and in which you can do boating. A large swimming pool for adults and kids along with quite a open area for various activities is available.
The Rivergate Resort located at Karjat was and enriching experience. The hotel is spread in quite a big area and offers you lots to do like swimming, nearby rafting, adventurous sports etc. we completely had rocking time and the services were also good.

I have visited this place with my 4 other family members from 10th to 12 May. We had to book 2 tents as the resort was unable to accommodate 5 people in a single tent. We had booked the resort well in advance (almost a month before actually checking in there). However, we had received a call 2-3 days before our actual travel date if we wish to reschedule our holiday plan at the resort :-s. I was taken a back by this call only to understand that they wanted to accommodate a large corporate booking which falls during the same dates of our stay. They were 'concerned' about our privacy and enjoyment due to the presence of such big group! Since we had already scheduled everything, there was no question of taking an U turn at the last moment hence, we decided to face their 'concern'. We landed there as per our plan and too our expectations everything went smoothly. Even though they were completely occupied with the large corporate group (and incidentally, we were the only family out there), they did pay a special attention to make sure that we thoroughly enjoy our stay.
Rivergate Resort, is situated at Karjat, around 2 hours drive from Thane, and 10 mins from Karjat Station. Its a good option, as weekend gateways around Mumbai are very few other than Lonavla and Khandala, which tend to get full as well as costly. The overall experience at Rivergate was exciting! With a price tag of Rs 3,000 per person, its a value for money resort- the rooms, food, ambience, surroundings, and amenities are worth the price which we pay.
Best part about the resort is not the location or the property or the amenities - it is the people. They have a great service attitude and caring nature for their guests. Just check if any corporate events are also happening here, coz that could be the only noise around. Peaceful and serene environment with lots of greenery and a river flowing next to the resort, its a perfect getaway for a weekend.
I have been to this Resort many many times, still wish to go back again.... Its a resort where u can chill and enjoy with your dear ones...the resort is huge and well maintained. Its staff is amazing and provides you a service with smile,,, It has a spa which is very affordable and excellent service. I dont mind visiting this place again and again
I have always seen pictures on Google for this resort but thought it might be fake how can a place be so beautiful ... me and my partner had left for lonavla but we could not find a good hotel in our budget it wasn't worth paying .. then I told my partner let's go river gate though it was tiring while driving back to karjat and finding river gate ... but It was worth I have never had such a good service ever before .. the best part the food was amazing being non vegetarian still I enjoyed the veg food and amazing deserts and most important the room and the bathroom was design amazing .. we had taken a tent .. though it was little expensive but worth to pay for a place where you live like a king and queen.. amazing environment in short can't forget this place and it's superb.
