Ryewood Park Overview

Ranked 22 of 25 sightseeing in Lonavala

Ryewood Park, sprawling over 25 acres, is located close to the Lonavala market. This park was initially a botanical garden, during the years of service of 'Mr. Rye', who was an English officer. The park was later re-constructed with decade old trees and ornamental flowering plants.

Abundant in floral variety, the park has tall trees with an ancient Mahadev (Shiva) Temple, located within the premises. Spacious open spaces to sit and relax, green grass, flowers and swings are amongst the highlights of the park.

Located half a kilometre away from Lonavala railway station, this park can be easily reached by auto, rickshaw and other modes of transportation.

Nature's Park, not being cared for

It could have been a decent place for nature's lovers but unfortunately has been allowed to run down over the years. Now it is in poor state of upkeep and it is not worth a visit. We went during peak summer and apart from tall trees, there was nothing in the flower beds and the surrounding grounds. We could only find children playing cricket within the premises.

A place to have Peace of Mind

Raywood park is the perfect place to be in Lonavala. It is near to Lonavala Station and Bus stand. There are few temples in Raywood park. It is a residential area. Noice level is very low in this area. The main thing at this place is that this is a main spot in Lonavala from where various lanes divert to other places like, Bhushi Dam, Tiger valley, Old highway, Station, Bus stand, Tata Power House, Shankar TEMPLE...

Not a great place

Visited the Ryewood Park which is named after Mr. Rye, an English officer. The park was initially a botanical garden and still retains some of the old trees and rare flowers of that time. There is also a small temple of Lord Shiva in garden. A place for local people.Simply just a Park which can be avoided

It's not a recommended visit

It's not a recommended visit.nothing much to see or do there. There's just a bunch of trees scattered here and there and a few stone benches.Although the place looks good enough during the monsoons.
