Sa - I - Mika Park, Cherrapunjee
Khliehshnong Cherrapunjee (Sohra)
I've been here three times and have not been disappointed. If you are looking for luxury, stay away. But if you want peace, and want to chill out amidst hills, a valley with a stream flowing by, then this is your place. The people here are very helpful and I didn't face any issue as such with the service. The rates are moderate, but the dormitory is very cheap. (But you won't regret taking the cottages). They easily arrange vehicles for sightseeing as well as droppings(which are separately chargeable of course). Bonus-on weekends you get a band playing live in the House. Happy Travelling!
Illbehaved caretaker. Overcharged place. Non responsive staff. Poorly maintained and managed place. Pl avoid. Even after advance payment of roomrent, the manager refused to acknowledge our reservation. After much fighting we got a poorly maintained room with no room heaters or TV or room kettles although the rwntal charged was 4000 per night. It was an awful experience during this holiday.
I booked 2 rooms for total 6 people and had also deposited the advance payment. After the payment, I called the manager to confirm, wherein he sent me a confirmation mail. But on the day of Check-in, I had to move 2 times between their 2 properties to actually find my room, and finally, I am denied my room. The response they give is that, the rooms are already full and we can give you room for only 4 people and not 6. This kind of irresponsibility clearly shows the standards of customer satisfaction that this hotel possesses. On calling the manager and the care taker, the response I get is that we do not have any other rooms. You have to adjust in that. I was terrified because I had already made advance payment and also, it was already 2 hours that I was struggling to find my room. Finally, after the unnecessary troubles and a lot of conversations, I was given a room at some other property than booked. I do not understand if other rooms were already empty, then why I was asked to wait for 2 hours in the cold and waste the time struggling between conversations. I think they rather reserve room for ghosts and ignore people who pay in advance. In short, the hotel does not believe in advance payments and even after getting confirmation through mail, you will be harassed a lot. They certainly need to develop professionalism in hotel management.

The resort is big open place with nice amenities. It has tracking fields available nearby. You can track nearby place just staying over there. It is quite an open space where you will feel so open and out of this world feel. It is not like the standard typical hotels but a nice open resort. The place is close to the cherrapunji and very near to sightseeing places and living root bridges. Even place is not far from caving adventures. As mentioned, the property is not like typical hotels so it doesn't offer the typical hotel environment and also not offer the hotel facilities like the same. I recommend to all the travellers that if they are visiting sohra(cherrapunji) then this is great place to stay and also it is one among the attraction for the people to visit there. Also, the rates are very much reasonable comparing to other places of that big status. The beauty of the place is whichever room you take you will feel the same goodness in all. Still my recommendation is a room far from the center place where the common room is. That will make you better feel about the place. What you missing at the place is a city life or clubbing if you feel like. Places also miss the swimming pool and if you think you need one then this may not be right place for you there. Overall, This is wonderful place to stay and I loved my a week's stay at the place. I am sure traveller would love the place.

One of my friend told me about it and I called to their manager. It was my first trip to Cherrapunjee so we wanted it to be good experience but it turned out to be a wonderful experience. Cherrapunjee is such a beautiful place that you are going to fall in love with nature. Location of Sa-I-Mika park is in out skirts of Sohra so you will not be disturbed by transport or crowd. When we reached there, I was not sure about how the service will be and just had a vague idea as per my friends review. But the staff, especially their manager Mr. Shantnu Borgohain, is really good and supportive. Rooms rare made of stone wall and wooden floor with all the modern facilities. It look like combination of natural element with modern technology (a bit philosophical but any one is going to like it). Food was my major concern as it is in outskirts so you don\'t have choice to go out. You are only dependent on their restaurant. I was more worried as I am purely veg and people here are mostly non-veg. But to my surprise it was good in taste and i thanked them for this. Just behind the park is a small waterfall. We spent our next morning there. Area is very beautiful and you should definitely stroll around at least for 2-3 hours. Most of you will be willing to visit \'Living Root Bridge\'. Please keep an entire day for this visit. Best would be to ask the manager of your hotel to arrange a guide or place to stay in the village itself for a night. It is in the valley and almost 2000 stairs you have to complete to reach there and another 2000 to come back. It really takes a lot of time and energy so remember that.
Very good location/surroundings, poor rooms/management/trained staff
The hotel was excellent. It was a relaxation trip. I had a fantastic experience in the hotel. The hotel was conveniently located and I didn't face any issue to reach the hotel. The hotel was near to the city and easily accessible. The interior as well exterior of the hotel was attractive and well-maintained. The surrounding of the hotel was neat and clean. The room allotted to me was excellent. It was spacious, well-maintained, neat and clean. It was an AC room and all the basic amenities were provided in the room. The washroom was clean and hygienic. I had and a good mountain view from my room. Hot and cold water was provided all the time. I was happy with the overall stay in the hotel. Check in and checkout process was done on time. The hotel arranged some other activities. Sightseeing trip was also organized by the hotel. I will surely recommend this hotel to other travellers. The hotel was value for money.
The best part is that a river stream flows within the periphery of the newly built resort. The location is really superb and if you want isolation this is the place to be. Food is undoubted an issue as I didn't get it as per my taste though they customized it for me. But service is really 10 out of 10
