Sabarmati Riverfront is developed on one of the biggest river Sabarmati, in of Gujarat. It is an innovative project undertaken by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation.
This is an ideal destination to enjoy picnic with family. It consists of a magnificent walkway over the river Sabarmati. Gardens, esplanades, amusement parks, golf courses, water Sports Park and slum rehabilitation are part of this project. The entire riverfront offers a panoramic view of the city's landscape.
Many people come here for their morning or evening walks. A leisurely stroll on the walkway, especially at night when the whole area is lit up with lights is quite refreshing. Speed boat and motor boat rides are the popular water sports available here. Kite flying is another activity that can be undertaken here.
Apart from this, one can visit the historic Sabarmati Ashram as well as other sites connected with Indian independence struggle. There are also many other attractions like Shreyas Folk Museum, Indroda Nature Park, Calico Museum of Textiles, Hathisingh Jain Temple, Hathisingh Jain Temple, Hathisingh Jain Temple near the riverfront.
Sabarmati is well connected with Ahmedabad and hence reaching the river front is fairly easy. Any time, other than summer is considered best for visit.

"Perfect place to enjoy your evening"

  • 6.0/7
  • Posted Mar 12, 2017
I went there with my friends when I was at Ahmedabad for my work. Gujrat Government has done a wonderful job by transformation of Sabarmati. You can walk along the bank's of Sabarmati while enjoying snakes available with local vendors. Boating facility is also available there. Even this place can be used for photoshop with your spouse.. Can be for pre- wedding photoshoots as per today's trends.

Government has provided a place for everyone to cheer up and spent their families a quality time.

At night state of the art lighting arrangement make it beautiful and allow you to create memories by spending time with your loved ones.

"Boating in Sabarmati riverfront"

  • 6.0/7
  • Posted Dec 16, 2016
Situated just opposite to the Sabarmati Ashram, this riverfront is the sight of relief and excitement. Even the dullest of the person will feel alive once the boat is set out to sail. There are two types of boating:

1) Motor Boat- Rs. 20 per person which is a calm sail across the riverfront and one can enjoy the beautiful hotels and lighting all around it with beautiful songs on the radio. It's a 3 mins ride.

2) Speed Boat- Rs. 100 per person in which you can enjoy the thrilling and gushing adrenaline inside oneself. It's a 1 min ride. The authority provides good quality life jackets and are very welcoming. You can shout your joy out and can use cameras for pictures. I recommend everyone who is visiting the riverfront to try this out. It gives the feeling of 'break free'.

Boating facility is also available. Good place to visit with family or friends for a small picnic. Walk along the river is also very great. There food court is also available for purchasing food items.
