The best hotel I have come across so far in Gangtok though other travel websites, travel agents & previous travellers to this city advised to check out other hotels since its expected that a traveller would love a valley facing room but its not the case with every traveller. March 2012 was my second stay at this property & I went to stay with it owing to my past experience with it when I visited it 3 years ago as a lone traveller. I can proudly call it a home away from home. Very friendly but you have your complete privacy also, spacious rooms, excellent linen, great service & on top of it a very neat and clean cum congenial atmosphere. Normally one would find dingy & smelling rooms in hill stations but its absolutely the opposite with Hotel Sagorika. Rooms are very fresh & it gives you a moment of joy the moment you enter them. Well painted walls, exquisitively carved furniture, floor carpets & well stocked washroom no matter what kind of room you take. Before you check-in into any property in Gangtok have a look at this one also and am sure you would be in two minds. Rooms have everything what a traveller requires on a holiday. The owner Mr. Navin Kumar Singh, a vry friendly & down to earth person. He treats every customer like his friend and at the same time gives respect as a customer too. His intention what I feel is to make a memorable trip not only to his property but also a visit to his wonderful city. He would sit with you and work out intricate details of every place in the city & plan out an itinerary just the way you want it to be. What else does one want: a good hotel, a good room & a helping hand to see the places around & that too at dirt cheap prices as compared to the equal category rooms. A traveller has got nothing to do with a grand reception area with a huge chandelier, huge wall paintings , carpeted stair case & other things which one cannot or wont stay with during the trip.
We had a wonderful stay at Sagorika. Words would short fall to express the amazing service rendered during our stay. The place I would rate as THE BEST FAMILY hotel at Gangtok. The location is absolutely perfect. Walk-out and you will see the fabulous M.G. Marg of Gangtok. The Service / Hospitality was outstanding and Superb. Folks I am sure you will experience the same. Do plan your trip in advance. Don\'t forget to send me the Chocolate for my guidance (50 Paise One) buddy. To Conclude I would say \' The trip became memorable & Fantastic\'
Hotel Sagorika is total value for money. Clean & comfortable rooms, with friendly staff. The manager Mr. Navin was very helpful and arranged a wonderful tour of Nathu La and North Sikkim for our group. The hotel is located about 10 minutes away from the heart of Gangtok, in a somewhat residential area. So it quiet and peaceful, yet close enough to M.G Road to indulge yourself in shopping, eating & drinking!
This hotel is exquisite. The staff were superb. The location is terrific and the rooms are beautiful and clean. I can't say enough good things about the Hotel Sagorika. The breakfast brunch was extensive and delicious, dinner was also fantastic. Located so closely to MG market.
Sikkim is one of the most beautiful states of India. We went for a tour in March 2012 and enjoyed a great holiday. The hotel is situated at Upper Arithang Road....near Sher-e-punjab. We were given a Terrace room and the room was simply awesome. Very neatly furbished. Plenty of blankets were given due to the cold weather conditions. Electric kettle and tea n coffee refreshments were available complimentary. We found the room exactly as was promised to us while booking. The bathroom was clean and above expectations. Geyser in the bathroom was excellent. Bath accessories were also provided and aesthetically placed above the basin's stand.
