Sahastradhara, located at a distance of around 14 km from the heart of the city, is a popular tourist attraction of Dehradun. Literally meaning 'Thousands fold Spring', Sahastradhara is a beautiful spring, having a depth of around 9 m.

Owing to the presence of sulphur in the water of this spring, it is believed to have medicinal value. Besides medicinal merits, the spring is also known for its beautiful views. The beauty of this spring is further enhanced by the surrounding caves and Baldi River.

The water of this spring has lime, which contributes towards the formation of projecting ridge that eventually takes the shape of a cave. Due to its medicinal properties and beautiful views that can be enjoyed at this place, Sahastradhara is popular among a large number of tourists.

"Nice place to visit" new review

  • 6.00/7
  • Posted 2 weeks ago
Can take an auto from Dehradun bus stand to this place the trip itself is nice. Travelling through the hill bends and reaching the final destination. The water is so clean, one will get mesmerized with the scenic beauty of the place. Nice place to hang around with friends, one can get the swimsuit for rent at that place also. After relaxing in the water, can have food at the shops or play games which is thrilling and gives an energetic atmosphere.

This is a great place to roam because you will all types of combinations here like nature, water & mountains. It is far better than a water park. Here, all types of small & large stuffs are available to swim & fun. This is the best place in Dehradun. Also, we have fun and food here to take the refreshment. This place is for all couples, family & love birds.

I frequently visited Dehradun city in last two years and chose single spot to roam and it is a good experience. I only came down for a day every time in 15 days but it is worth watching.
