The Sana Beach, Mandarmani
Purba Midnapore, Mandarmoni, West Bengal 721461
Parking facility was available there and it was very spacious. Servicing staff was really good and services were prompt. I had no problem during check-in and check-out facility. Interior and exterior look of the hotel was green and nice. Room was neat, tidy and spacious. Pillow, washroom and other things were in clean condition. AC, TV and other daily use items were available there and functioning properly but geyser was not there. They provided hot water facility in bucket. Sea view was visible from the room. I stayed there two days. Staff of the hotel was cleaning the room regularly. Restaurant facility was available there and it was very nice. Quality of the food was best. Many varieties were available there like North Indian, Chinese, continental, etc. Price wise, the food was okay. Spa, bar, swimming pool and other relaxation activities were available there and they all were well-maintained. Temple was available in the surrounding of the hotel. Location of the hotel was very good and it was situated inside the city and near to the sea but near about 23km far from the railway station and 12 km far from the bus stand. I faced no problem to find this hotel. They arranged cab facility for sightseeing trip. I visited there with my family in June month 2013. Overall, my destination in Mandarmani was valuable. Surrounding of the hotel was peaceful and I liked it. I would like to recommend this hotel to other travellers.
The Sana beach is located in Mandarmani, near Kolkata. Good connectivity available. By bus - Can board any Digha bound bus and get off at Chaulkhola. From Chaulkhola, a car can be hired to the hotel. The front desk can also arrange for pickup at a price. It's about 15 km to the hotel. Rates carry. So bargain around Rs. 500/- By train - Can reach Kathi by train from Howrah. Get out of the train and bang outside PF 1 you can find a lot of cars for hire to Mandarmani. It's about 40 km. Roads are in good condition. The Sana beach is a nice place with a variety of accommodation types which can be checked from their website. The positives: The place is clean and the service is excellent. Food is excellent. The place has a variety of options to keep your adrenalin pumping. You can play badminton, table tennis or use the swimming pool. There is a pool table in the bar as well. The place has its own mini forest (Jhau Bon). This allows you to enjoy nature anytime within the secured premises. Bang outside the gate is a small shack which caters to your basic needs like a seafood lunch (local preparation), coconut water and other beverages. You can enjoy these with the Bay of Bengal in front. Since Sana is located at the extreme point of Mandarmani, you can walk down the beach to the confluence (Mohona). The negatives: No running hot water. But they provide you the same in buckets and do it real fast. The rooms are a bit overpriced. The garden facing cottages look great from outside but small windows give you a claustrophobic feeling. All in all, it's a nice place to spend your weekend. So go ahead and enjoy the beach.
Sana Beach Resort - A visit here happened by way of an impromptu plan to Mandarmoni when the monsoons had just announced it\'s arrival. On a land cruiser, with a cold box stacked with our refreshments, three of us, left for mandarmoni, dressed down for a relaxed weekend. We usually book the resorts in advance, though this time we did not. We were fortunate enough to get a deluxe cottage, and we did enjoy our stay throughout. Here\'s my two cents on the experience: Location -- Located away from the many hotels and resorts that have cropped upat Mandarmoni, Sana Beach is towards the end of the beach road. We did have a little bit of a trouble reaching, since it was monsoon time and the back road was muddy plus, the locals ever waiting for your car to get stuck and then they can demand huge amounts for helping out. I give Sana Beach a 6/7 for location. The Resort -- A beautifully designed resort, I wouldn\'t say it is very very spacious, as might be said about Rose Valley, but indeed Sana Beach is beautifully designed. You enter the resort, can drive upto a certain point, then there is a mini howrah bridge that you cross to reach the reception. At the same hall where the recption is, you have the Hookah bar, then the restaurant and the banquet and a little more into the resort is the pool with free air jacuzzi. Perfect for friends to have a relaxing time, and eqully good for couples. The Cottage -- It had a double bad, and a single bed at the side, a well maintained attached bath, AC, huge windows from where you can see the beach(though the view is restricted because of the trees bordering the resort), ample space, and a centre table with 4 cushioned chairs. Outside the cottage is some space which we utilized throughout the night, where we could sit, drink, eat, and relax. Staff -- Very helpful, humble and courteous. You need anything, give them a call and though it will take time, you will get what you want. I had even ordered for 2 bottles of real juice and got it quickly. They even helped to take the luggage from and to the car while check-in and check-out Food - Though I was on an AP basis plan, I felt too lazy to go to the banquet for the buffet and we ordered at the cottage itself, as a deliberate attempt to stay away from the crowd. The food was nice, we found it tasty, and for the price, the quantity was OK. We did make use of the pool at night, and it was clean, with reclining longes by the side. Apart from this, there is a spot just to the left of the entrace where there are chairs, you can sit there and ponder - we did this around 3AM at night, facing the beach, the sound of the waves, the damp feeling, and the perfect view! Sana Beach gets a 6/7 from me, since the only thing I did noyt like about the resort was its buffet where there are so many people and you have to wait for getting your food. We shelled out around 8k for a night, and for this money, I did not contemplate we would have to wait for the food in buffet. Apart from this, a perfect stay. Sana Beach -- highly recommended.
Location was good but it was inside the city. I went in my own vehicle. Overall, experience was good. The best in the hotel was swimming pool. They were no indoor outdoor games conducted. In the month of September, I visited with my friends. Outside surrounding of the hotel was not good but the inside it was good. There was no delay in check-in and check-out process. There was no sightseeing trip was organised. The staffs were friendly and helpful with quick request. The room was spacious, neat and well-maintained. The food quality and taste was good with buffet system. TV was not working properly in the hotel. The bathroom was hygienic and neat. There was no view from the hotel room. The destination was good and it was value for the money. I would like to recommend other travellers to visit the hotel. They should improve in furniture quality.
The Hotel was nice. The surrounding was beautiful, refreshing and peaceful. We enjoyed a lot in the swimming pool. Children were equally excited riding the swing slide and the see saw. They joyously spent their afternoon there. We played badminton with the children after a long time. Children were wide eyed to see so many geese near a natural pool. The bed were soft and comfortable. The staff were very courteous. Their prompt and timely service was impressive. We had enjoyed a perfect relaxed holiday with our family there, away from the hassle and noise of the city.
