Stayed at Hotel Sander ling from 14th April 2017 to 18 April 2017. Went for a family a holiday. The place was a good one located in the center of Darjeeling and has easy access to all the important tourist places here. The Service was really good, all the staff members were very courteous and responsive, especially the Manager Mr. Mohanthy who supervises every thing personally, he interacts with all the guests and finds out their requirements and arranges for them The main draw back for this place are the lack of a lift. To access the reception you have to climb around 15 steps and mind you it looks easy but as you climb them you just feel breathless and panting especially if you are from a place which is at a lower altitude than Darjeeling. The guys in the reception know this and offer you a hot cup of tea in the reception before they ask you to fill up the guest details book. The other main drawback to this place is your taxi may not go up to the hotel during the day time when the market is full of hawkers. The hotel people send their boys to carry your luggage up to the hotel which is a fair offer from them. As we reached at about 8 PM the taxi went up to the hotel but on the other days we had to walk a little distance which was manageable As far as the restaurant is concerned it was good. Decent food. Not too expensive. May not have all the stuff but whatever they had was tasty and hygienic No parking at the hotel, we were offered free WiFi. Room service was good enough. Have 24 x 7 hot water, cable TV. The Bath rooms were clean and well maintained. The surrounding place is very crowded. The way leading to the hotel was bit shabby as the new constructions beside this place were in progress You can walk down sorry walk up to the Glenary's bakery which is 100 year old bakery. I suggest you to ask your cab driver to drop you there as the walk up is really tough for those who are not accustomed, though it was close by. You can also go to Keventers which too is a famous eatery in Darjeeling and close to Glenary's. On the same road you can enjoy a movie in the INOX and a Mall too is present on this road for your evening shopping Overall its a good and decent place with very responsive staff
Its located in center near and well connected with transport facility, food wise its average, they provide sightseeing packages also but it bit higher. As its located in center and near to market you can enjoy your shopping and roam easily in local market.
Location of the hotel was nice. Staff services were satisfactory. I went there with my family and it was a sightseeing trip. Hotel staff was helpful and hygienic. I took my meal in the hotel and it was fine. Hotel was value for money paid. I faced no problem during check-in and check-out facility. You can see Kanchenjunga view from hotel rooms. Darjeeling as tourist place is good. TV and other basic amenities were available in the room. Indoor and outdoor activities were not there. Food was not complimentary there. I went there in 2012. I will recommend this hotel to other travelers. They did not arrange any sightseeing trip for us.

The hotel appearance was good. Staff were cooperative, prompt and courteous. Improvement is required in the food standards. The hotel is located in such a place it is very difficult to reach. The approach path is also adventurous. Also it is very difficult to locate the hotel. Since the food provided by the hotel was not suitable we were to wander to other nearby hotels.
