Triveni Sangam, located at a distance of 7 km from the Civil Lines is one of the most famous tourist attractions of the city. It is the confluence of the three rivers Ganges, Yamuna and the mythical Saraswati.   It is also believed to be the same spot where the drops of holy nectar fell.

It is the holiest point in Allahabad and a dip in the Triveni is believed to free one, of all sins. Tourists visiting Sangam can hire boats to take a dip into this holy water. Boats are available at the ghat immediately to the east of the fort. This Sangam is extremely crowded during the Kumbha and Ardh Kumbha Melas.

Boats are available at INR30.05 per visitor. The official prices of the boat ranges from INR99.58 to INR119.77. However at peak season prices rises to INR 249.41.

"A unique spiritual experience, divine in fact" new review

  • 6.0/7

There is only one thing more peaceful than staying at the ghats of the holy river Ganges, staying at the confluence(Sangam) of the Ganga, the Yamuna and the mythical Saraswati rivers. Apart from the famous Kumbh Mela (12 yearly fest) and the Ardh Kumbh Mela (Half Kumbh) every year in the Hindi calendar month of Magh(falls around mid January-February), a Magh mela is held. This holy fair has a scale comparable to any festival on this lovely green planet. During this month long fest around millions camp on the banks for a month and on some very important dates one might witness some 30-40 million devotees taking the holy dip simultaneously. Spiritual leaders camping and giving sermons is a common sight. The administration takes good care of all basic amenities possible for a gathering so big, for a duration so long. Visit this place as, to see is to believe.

"Peaceful atmosphere with beautiful view"

  • 5.5/7

Sangam is known as a holy place in Indian scriptures and once you arrive there, you can feel the same in the atmosphere. During the winters, one can also witness the migratory sea-gulls which are majestic. The serene boat ride through the Yamuna river to the meeting point with the Ganges will give you hope and peace.
Just be careful not to indulge with some of the greedy pandits who will perform puja for you and demand unjustified amounts of money.
Take a balance pair of clothes with you which you will need after your holy dip in the Ganga river.

Spiritual place where 3 rivers meet that hold importance and make different from other locations. Best part which I have heard from people that saraswati Nadi is invisible and you can see in the well which is in fort of Akbar near akshay vrat. So it hold importance and here we have kumbh.

Excellent spot in whole world. At Sangam you can see the 2 river meets and can easily see the different colours of River Ganga and Yamuna. Every year the place hosted one of the biggest religious gathering. Excellent place to visit.

"Nice place to view all the three rivers"

  • 4.5/7

Visited there a few months back. Appears as the only place where you can see waters of three different colours meeting together and then finally mixing to give a 4 th different colour. Was mesmerised with the beauty of sunset here. The visit was paisa vasool, do visit when in Allahabad. Go there and see the real India on shore.

"Triveni Sangam - Auspicious Day Bathing"

  • 7.0/7
  • Posted Feb 28, 2016
Prayag is the holy place on the earth, where the River Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati rivers confluence point. It is the place where the pilgrims take holy bath on all days and lakhs of people take a holy dip on auspicious days. Needs to develop some infrastructure at the sangam. No changing rooms are available.
