"Triveni Sangam is the most sacred place of Hindu"

  • 6.00/7
  • Posted 1 month ago
Triveni Sangam is the confluence of three holy rivers Ganga, Yamuna and invisible river Saraswati. The point of confluence is a sacred place for Hindus and a bath here is said to flush away all of one's sins. It is a place for religious importance and very famous historical Kumbha Mela held here for every 12 years. Pilgrims hire a boat to reach the place of Sangam. The locals are erected some platforms and charging 20/- each for bathing. But be aware of local agents, first they say 3 thousands for a separate boat. But we have hired 1000/- for a separate boat and at the Sangam pandits insist to do puja before going to a dip or bath and ask for annadhanam donations. It is your will how much amount to donate.

"A place worth visiting"

  • 6.00/7
  • Posted Apr 6, 2015
There is so much attached to this place that one is awed by the span of two major rivers meeting at this place. Apart from haggling with the boat wallahs for the ride upto the middle, where there are platforms erected, it is an experience to face the Pandits to perform the rituals and yield to their demands. We were fortunate to watch hundreds of migratory birds, frolicking over the river water.

View of the two rivers flowing majestically is amazing and one can watch it for hours, sitting at the river bank. New road bridge over the river at distant horizon is another memorable view from the Sangam.

Peaceful place to spend the evening. Watching the sunset at sangam is amazing. One must go to sangam if he has come to Allahabad. The fort on sangam is a historic monument. Now it is a army base.

Sangam is a place, one has to be extra cautious. This place is full of panda and touts otherwise. Apart from religious importance one can also joy the boat rides in the river. This place offers a nice scenery and Panorama to capture.

"No crowd nice to visit"

  • 5.00/7
  • Posted Nov 6, 2014
I reached here in the afternoon ,when there was no crowd. Three row of boats lying empty at the corner of the Yamuna river. During festival time ot Kumbh or Magh mela, you virtually rub your shoulders with the crown. View was very scenic with many birds flying over the boats. In front I could see Allahabad Fort, built by king Akbar.
