About Sangam

Triveni Sangam, located at a distance of 7 km from the Civil Lines is one of the most famous tourist attractions of the city. It is the confluence of the three rivers Ganges, Yamuna and the mythical Saraswati.   It is also believed to be the same spot where the drops of holy nectar fell.

It is the holiest point in Allahabad and a dip in the Triveni is believed to free one, of all sins. Tourists visiting Sangam can hire boats to take a dip into this holy water. Boats are available at the ghat immediately to the east of the fort. This Sangam is extremely crowded during the Kumbha and Ardh Kumbha Melas.

Boats are available at INR30.05 per visitor. The official prices of the boat ranges from INR99.58 to INR119.77. However at peak season prices rises to INR 249.41.

"Triveni Sangam where Ganga, Yamuna and underneath Saraswati meet" new review

  • 4.5/7
  • Posted 2 weeks ago
Pithru Tharpanam are done on shore. But they will force you to take a bath at Sangam and start the rituals. Charges are Rs. 150 on a big boat to Rs. 500 for a private boat. A stage is provided near the Sangam and you have to pay Rs. 10 as fee for using the same.

"Sangam - Waters of heaven"

  • 5.0/7
  • Posted 1 month ago
It's spectacular to see the conjunction of two great River Ganga and Yamuna, sand, birds and everything around. Anyone can easily hire a boat and go to the point where these two rivers are meeting each other and can take a dip to feel the holiness. While many things are good, there are some bad things too. Cleanliness, no tariff of boats and poor management are some of the issue. Still I did like to give this place 5 star because it feels really spiritual to come to this place.

"Beauty of Ganga Yamuna-Confluence together with Siberian flock"

  • 6.0/7
  • Posted 2 months ago
We went to celebrate my mom-dad's 30th anniversary. Reached Yamuna ghat/boat club and bargained with the boatman for a ride in waters till sangam and back for 200 bucks for 6 people.

And I would recommend to buy the food for Siberian birds from the ghat before setting out for the fun. After that just enjoy the grey water of Yamuna till you reach the sangam together with the chirping and acrobatic swims of the birds chasing you all the way for that "food"!! You will simply love it!! :)
