Scorpion’s Sting, popularly known as Vinchu Kata, covers an expansive area of 38 square km, at a height of 625 metres above sea level. Extending along the west side of Lonavala, this long and narrow fortified spur is located in the region of the Lohagarh Fort.
This site is named after its natural scorpion shape, which has finger styled projections of Lava fissure. Offering aerial views of surrounding plains and lush green forests, the site descends towards the Visapur Fort. The natural beauty of this hilly terrain attracts numerous nature lovers and trekkers from across the world.
To reach this site, visitors can come to Malavali by local train and then take a rickshaw for the Lohagarh Fort.
