During the month of april 2016 I had been to Chikmagalur and made my stay in Serai The. It was my official trip with collueuge. The city Chikmagalur was average. I would rate the location as good because it is at main center. The appearance of the hotel was average. The staff at the reception was average. I booked my room through online. The house keeping services in the hotel were very good but need to extend the availability. Rooms which we stayed in were good with facilities and hygiene. The hotel food was average.
To start with the location. Amidst the coffee plantations and within them lies The Serai meaning Travelers rest place And it is a rejuvenating and a resting abode. Was greeted at the entrance with a nice welcome drink and a garland. Check in process was smooth and was taken directly to our villa and was surprised to see such a warm pleasant entry. The villa is huge. At the entrance straight you have the king bed at a height and nice cushioned sofa in the corner giving the view of a forest kind terrain. Behind is the luxurious huge bathroom also attached at the exterior is an open air rain shower. Further, You head down where you have the hall and the private pool with a small lawn, Dining was experience was good. It was an American Plan all inclusive. Served with flavors and also they were keen to service every guest. Professionalism at its best. Did cater to our needs personally. The must try is their spa. Pure coffee powdered scrubs for couples, expensive but worth it when you come out with a flawless skin and an aroma of coffee over the skin. Also is their own common pool which is similar to an infinity. Also serves F&B buy the pool. The lawns are pretty big and vast and also they let you take their bicycles for a ride within the property. For the evenings, the showcased some local folk art dances and some extra curricular activities too which was fun. And to call it a night a blissful sleep. Loved everything about this place. From the time of check in till check out everything was personally attended. Will surely head back to trying the other properties of The Serai and I'm sure to have the same experience. See you soon. Room Tip: Estate Villa Terrace Pool

Serai... a word that for me is now synonymous with tranquility and thought-provoking scenery. The locale simply takes your breath away.... surrounded among acres of coffee, pepper and bamboo, it is unobtrusive nature at its best. And the individually constructed private chalets are a delightful surprise for one seeking solace from the hustle and bustle of the daily grind. Tasteful and elegant, the colours and decor are designed to sooth the senses while drawing out an appreciation of the eco-friendly sensibilities displayed... right from the straw-mat clad ceiling to the rich wooden floor made from fallen or dead rosewood trees collected over 2 decades.
check in to check out was great. I was anxious about food because we are vegeterians. the food was great , excellent. My next worry was about the cleanliness of the pool. Serai scored excellent on that. Friendly staff. The kids play area . pool tables. walk around inside the resort. value for money - for a relaxed holiday with kids
The location of the hotel was very quiet and peaceful. Staff behaviour was good. They were helpful and friendly. The hotel was located about 20 minutes from the Bus Stand. The hotel picked us up from the bus stand. There were not many activities in the hotel. There was no delay in check-in and check-out procedure. The appearance of the hotel was very good. The room was spacious, neat, clean and well-maintained. There was no view out of the room. Basic amenities in the room were working properly. Washroom and bedding were neat and clean. The food quality was very good. They had both veg and non veg food. Everything in the hotel was slightly expensive.
Myself and my wife were here to celebrate our Anniversary! A superb property, beautifully maintained, good service. Serai has around 4 resorts. This is a perfect place to celebrate one's special occasion. Very friendly and supportive staff. The food was good as well. They will also arrange for special romantic dinners on request. Overall happy and satisfied with the property and service. This is 10 km away from the city and it is easy to locate. Keep looking out for deals on their website.
The Serai is easily accessible and a wonderful resort with excellent design and ambience. Each villa with its own plunge pool and beautiful, luxurious interiors is a dream for anyone with relaxation on the agenda. The spa is good, the people are friendly and the restaurant offers a good mix of local and continental cuisine. Try and avoid the front office, though. They are new, trying to get up there with the best, but ask you to \'chill with a glass of water\' when they goof up!! Being told off for their goof ups was a novel experience! Better service and courteous responses are preferred to \'waiving off the bill for the coffee!\' No doubt the coffee was superb! There are a lot of good places to got o around Chikmagalur and the drives are very scenic. The climb to Mulayanagiri hill is exciting and the view from the top is worth the effort. It was a wonderful three days we spent
