My parents were visiting me from Kolkata, and I needed to take them to a nice, relaxing weekend getaway. I discovered Serene Homestay in Coorg through HolidayIQ, and the lovely reviews inspired me to select it as my destination.
I guess the truest thing about this place is it's name. Spread over 75 acres, with pepper and coffeee plantations, interspersed with Jack Fruit trees, and a swift stream running across its backyard - this place is serenity personified. Small wonder, you have elephants and leopards along with mnay exotic birds frequenting the place as well.
They have simple family bonding activities like caroms, a little play area for kids, and for the more active folks, a basketball court as well.
The rooms are very spacious and nice.
The highlight of our holiday was the drive through the picturesque Nagarhole Wildlife Sanctuary. We had sightings of deer, wild fowl, woodpeckers, kingfishers, peacocks, parrots of all kinds, and some rare birds I never knew of.
The food there was another highlight. Very well, homely cooked food.
The property is run by a very sweet couple - Navya and Pradeep - who's hospitality makes your stay the icing on the cake.
To top it all, we were blessed with great weather.
I'd recommend this place to families and couples alike. In the past, I have paid many times over for holidays in other places and properties, but they have failed to generate the kind of experience we had at Serene Homestay.

It was serene as the name suggests. A quiet place away from the hustle and bustle and located amidst a 50 acre coffee estate with a beautiful stream overlooking the Brahmagiri range. Apart from that excellent hosts Mr. Prakash and Navya. Not to miss the \"Pandhi curry\" cooked in the Coorg style.
Best Experience: The location around the home stay and the twining roads through the green estatee. Even the houses there seem to have blended well with the environment. The weather was soothing too
Worst Experience: None
