"A beautiful waterfall"

Small spot to relax and halt when you move towards north Sikkim. Though it's not a very dangerous waterfall but care should be taken with kids as few spots are very slippery and risk prone.

"Beautiful falls"

The falls are beautiful, during rains and immediately after it has rained. One can clearly demarcate seven different falls merging together as they cascade down. We chanced upon the falls and clicked great photos, during rains, last month.

This place was excellent. A pleasant breeze and a cafeteria nearby. Eating warm food items with the beautiful scenery of Gangtok is the best. The waterfall was so awesome! I guess you should give a try.

Not a remarkable point to visit. It lies on the way from Gangtok to Yumthang valley. Just a spot for clicking a few pictures and nothing special.

"Most beautiful place"

This is one of the places in Sikkim. If we stand front side of that, most beautiful scenery becomes behind us. This is the romantic place. But I don't know why it related with that type of name.

"The rains had turned the waterfall absolutely ferocious"

  • 6.0/7
  • Posted Jul 10, 2014
On the way to Lachung you come across this waterfall. When we visited this place in May it had been raining throughout the day. The drive was very pleasant and exciting although very bumpy. The rains had turned the waterfall absolutely ferocious. But this is a sight you will find only when it rains. During the dry season the waterfall would be very tame. But fortunately we got to see it in its wild avatar. And it was a wonderful sight, the manner in which the water was falling on the road and spraying all over. We got down and took some snaps. The Teesta river flowing below was also in a very bad mood. An exciting and adventurous experience. But one advice, don't be afraid to cancel any further journey on this road if the weather worsens, don't worry about the money that you have invested in this trip. We turned back from a point where we thought going beyond could be dangerous. There was an accident the same day when a vehicle carrying ten people got washed away. So decide when there is still time.
