The complimentary breakfast was given by the hotel. I had visited this hotel for vacation purpose with my wife. I would suggest this hotel to improve food quality and WiFi facility. I would not recommend this hotel to upcoming travellers. The WiFi facility was provided in the room not in working condition.
I had visited this hotel with my family. I went by my own vehicle. It was a new building. The allotted room was clean and neat. All the amenities were provided in the room in good condition. The variety of food was provided by the hotel. The activity was not arranged by the hotel. It was a budget hotel.
Best Place to stay in Ladakh, far from the city centre near to the Shanti Stop. A friendly attitude by the Dorji family who runs this hotel and service is cool. They just make you enter and make it your home itself. Have their home made foods and have a hot Bath at frequent intervals. All you get to see the comforts here. Best because you can travel and enjoy the Leh place here.
Stayed at Shanti Guest house in early August 2014 and had an amazing time. The rooms we got were on the 2 floor were very comfortable and pleasant with a view to the garden. The staff was very helpful and friendly . . I must say that they serve excellent food. They are also comfortable in customizing your dish if you ask for it. They use lettuce etc from their own garden. The hotel also helped us to arrange our car for travel. Would love to go again next year! Its good to pre-book the rooms as usually the place is booked in tourist season. The Shanti Stupa is right next to the hotel and it became a custom to climp up the stairs of the stupa every morning !.
The entrance is depressing when you compare it with the other adjoining hotels, stayed two nights with Family but there's no space for Kids to play or come out. For all hotels Parking at Changspa road is done which is other downside . . North Indian Veg food is bad - anything you order except Palak Paneer which was Good as they use to grow their own Palak in small Kitchen Garden.
Good guest house. The service was good. Food was a bit of a problem. Cooking was not good. Hot water facility was not available. Rooms were good and spacious. There was good view from some rooms. Location of the hotel peaceful and average. Appearance of the guest house was average from outside, but good from inside. Booking facility was good. The management is helpful. Leh Ladakh is an excellent place to visit.
The Shanti Guest House is the most wonderful hotel ever I stayed in visiting different places in India. The guest house is located under the Shanti Stupa. We lived there very peacefully as it is little bit out of the main road. The food was excellent. The Washroom was very clean & hot water was available. The rooms are quite big, clean, comfortable & WiFi enabled. The view was also scenic The most excellent thing which I'll never forget is the behavior of the hotel owner Mr. Dorjee & her mother. They are very friendly & caring. My 3 years old daughter found her Dadi in Mr. Dorjee ji's mother. Mr. Dorjee dropped us in his own car at 11 o'clock night at Leh taxi stand as we could not get any taxi On the whole I think it is the best place to stay and there is value for money in staying at Shanti Guest House when visiting Ladakh .
Its very calm place with limited rooms. As the name suggest it gives you home like feeling with Garden Restaurant. Its located on the way to Shanti Stupa. We had booked it for couple of days but went on staying for four days. Let down was DTH was not recharged so no watching TV.
Ladakh needs no introduction. The place was captivating and situated on the Chanspa road below the revered Shanti Stupa in the city of Leh. The place is cheap and very famous among the foreigners so an advance booking may be a good idea. The central market is a bit far away and a Taxi (Van) may be needed (50/- INR one way) for the ferry. It gets really dark in the evening so do keep torches with you when traveling at night. There are many good places to eat near the Shanti Palace hotel. There were only 2 rooms with TV. Food was good and you will get Ladakhi menu also.
I am very happy with this hotel. They provide good facilities. And good room service available.
it ws awsm as place itself ws full of beauty n it ws the most memorable trip ever had in my life....
The location is nice....The room we stayed had an amazing view. It also had a balcony. The food we had here were excellent, especially liked the local Ladakhi food they prepared for us.overall a good experience , would definitely recommend this place to budget travellers
