"Great place for relaxation"

Beautiful location...Great place for relaxation and rejuvenation- jus stretch out on the deck chair on the balcony overlooking the beautiful lake and the surrounding greenery or take walk down to the lake for some boating. Courteous staff- that is quite uncommon in a govt run resort. Good value for money (although we were told about a probable hike in the tariff follwing our visit). Just need some maintainance here and there, specially the bathroom fittings. A little cleaning up would make it even better. Something that we missed a lot was the intercom or a good old bell in the room for placing orders. 8 over 10!

Best Experience: Booking is easy- just a phone - even no advance payment.

Worst Experience: Had to walk up to the dining hall every time for ordering food or any small thing as there no phone/bell in the room.

"Awesome experience"

this beautiful resort has a lot to offer from good food to nice service and clean rooms, one would definitely want to stay here.. my experience was awesome.Shillong is a place to visit with ur family, ur spouse only or also with friends.its a very clean city and a city blessed with natural aura of peace.

this beautiful resort has a lot to offer from good food to nice service and clean rooms, one would definitely want to stay here.. my experience was awesome, great fun and very exciting as well... very nice hotel to stay and but not much games or activities were there....but it was a great place to stay

The room service was prompt. The food was good. The room was neat. It had a sitout with a great view of the Barapani lake. No TV in room which is good if you like it that way. Just 15kms from the crowded city of Shillong.

Best Experience: Very near to the water sports activities in the lake. Activities are limited though. A lot of locals throng the island in the lake and they carry groceries to have a picnic. They don't have a peaceful slow boat ride where one can enjoy the view from the waters.

Worst Experience: The front desk staff need to be a little more polite though. Some wall areas in the room were damp and needs maintenance.

Best Experience: had gone to Shillong peak which was arranged by the hotel people only..the amazing view of the whole city from the peak was awesome..

it was a good experience to stay in Orchid lake resort. for couples it is very nice place. Location is very good.

Best Experience: staff cooperation is good. they booked a taxi from Shillong to Guwahati. it is great job done.

Worst Experience: Bed tea is not available

Overall it is a good place to stay with/without family.

Best Experience: Rooms are very big in size. Location is wonderful, just beside the Umium lake. From restaurant one can get a very good scenic beauty of the lake. One can view the sunset over the lake from the restaurant. Food is OK.

Worst Experience: Rooms are not getting properly maintained. According to price, one can expect a much better getup. Window locks are broken, lights are only ordinary bulbs.

The location and the room\'s condition is pleasant .But the food facility and room service is poor.

Best Experience: no any examples.

Worst Experience: i with my family stayed one day and night from 27 to28th Dec 09 .But I am regretted to comment that hotel staff did not showed any hospitality to us .no any room service provided .we have to sit in the restaurant for 2 hours to get the lunch .again at evening for a cup of tea we have to pursue the hotel boy,kitchen staff several times.we have to com back from the resort this bitter experience.

The whole resort is under renovation and thus we were kept in a lower standard rooms; this was not told us before. Rooms and toilets were found not clean, they had very poor service with regards to delivery of food and choices of breakfast menus.
