The hotel was conveniently located and I did not face any difficulty in reaching. The hotel appearance and surroundings were good. The food at the hotel was delicious with lot of varieties in set menu. The staffs at the hotel were professional and friendly. The rooms were average with all the amenities at perfect condition. There was no delay in check in and check out process. I would like to recommend this hotel to other travel.
The location of the hotel was average. The transportation facility was not available nearby the hotel. The appearance of the hotel was very good. The garden was not available at the hotel. The booking and front office was nice. The overall service was very bad. I didn't have any food from this hotel. I had visited this hotel for relaxation purpose with my family.
The hotel was located outside of the city. All the amenities were provided in the room in good condition. The outside view was very nice from room. The best part of the hotel was amenities. The overall experience was very good.
The hotel is nice, with ok-ok atmosphere. Room service is normal, food is ok-ok. Travelling is long to this place from central market as its far off from the main road. basically a middle class hotel if you are a budget constraint one... However this hotel is a go-one if you are there to stay long to save money as well.
I went shimla on a family trip it was a good experience had lots of fun the bed was extra comfortable it wass like sleeping on a cloud. The television set was of very good quality and all the channels were coming in HD. The services were same as promised the staff was very punctual of time, house keeping services was ok. I had very difficulty in finding the hotel i wish had known before. There are many good restuarants near the hotel the meals are cheaper than my thoughts. If i come again i will choose only this hotel.
I visited this hotel last year Its a average hotel acc. located at lower mall just stone throw from lift parking. good hotel with ample parking area. good spacious room neat and tidy. sophisticated presentation of food u order in room. draw back is too far from the mall. buf comparetively good away from crowd.
Located on the Lower Mall Road in Shimla, this HPTDC hotel is basically suited to Indian middle class families who visit the famous Shimla 'hill station' (now a bustling city) for a few days of sightseeing of nearby attractions. One has to take the 'peoples' lift' near the hotel to go up to the Mall Road, a major city attraction. It has the facilities & amenities of a decent hotel, without the frills, and is run quite professionally. The small bathrooms have hot water in showers & a small window, but no exhaust fan. The rather small rooms are adequately furnished with a decent double bed, chairs, a desk, table & stool. The 'wifi' did not work and the management was in no hurry to get it working. However, credit cards are accepted for bill payment. A large dining room serves good, hot, delicious Indian meals but the cooking is high in oil. Overall, a fairly above average hotel for a reasonable tarrif of Rs 3200/- per couple per night. Ask for a room with a view of the hills. A 'toy train' operates from Shimla to Kalka in a 5-hr journey and the Rly station is about 20 minutes by walking from the hotel.
It is one of the best government hotel in shimla and they made all their efforts for u to make happy by their services and foods and its location is very nearly to the mall road in shimla ....the atmosphere of shimla is very beautiful and its feel like u enter in a beautiful world.

Three of us had gone to Shimla from Delhi during the middle of February in 2007, just before the snowfall ended! We had made our hotel booking in advance, and had selected Hotel Holiday Home, which is run by the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) for our one night and two days stay in Shimla. Getting the booking for the hotel was anything but easy! There is no way of reserving a room without a downpayment. Though HPTDC has a website that allows you to pay online, we were not very sure whether it would actually work, and booking online also meant that one could not bargain for any discounts. So, we decided to do the hard yards and physically go over to the HPTDC office in Chanderlok Building, Janpath, Delhi, to book the hotel. This is one aspect that HPTDC needs to look into, as their office is the only place in Delhi where you can book their hotels, and it closes at 6:00 PM. The actual booking was quite painless - payment was in advance, but they gave a 20% discount, which made the trip to their office worthwhile!:) We reached the hotel an hour before lunch on our first day in Shimla. The hotel is situated towards the back of the town. The straight road past the bus stand and railway station goes directly to it, and it is quite well known, so finding it was not a problem. You can take your car, as the hotel has ample parking space. The hotel lobby had the typical gone-to-seed appearance that most government hotels have, and check in was quite slow, but thereafter everything else was just great! Rooms were very comfortable and warm, and the bathroom and other facilities were more than just value for money (we had taken the 1600 bucks rooms). Even their service and food was excellent. Rooms had all amenities including cable tv, and the bathrooms had running hot water. However, if you\'re looking for a room with a view, then you\'ll be sorely disappointed. Though the hotel is on a hillock, all you can see around you are the other hotels and houses which have transformed Shimla into a concrete jungle! Not exactly the most romantic of views! The mall is above the hotel and by the long road takes a very long time to get to. However, there is this quaint uphill path just behind the hotel (WAY TO MALL signage is prominently displayed) which gets you there in less than 10 minutes, even if you walk slowly. There is also supposed to be a lift to the mall near the hotel, but we didn\'t see it as we only used the path. Check out is at noon, and check in can be anytime if they have rooms available. The staff was uniformaly courteous and helpful, except during the check-in, which took an inordinate amount of time. Checkout, unlike check-in was a painless affair, and despite all its flaws, I have no hesitation in recommending the hotel if you\'re looking for a decent and moderately priced place to stay in in Shimla. Just ensure that you have prior reservations as room availabilty is an issue, even in off-peak season. More information of HPTDC offices near you can be obtained from the HPTDC website: www.hptdc.nic.in

This is my weekend trip for Shimla and that time I stay at Shimla Hotel Holiday Home. This is one super and awesome hotel in Shimla. It is 1 km far from mall road and we can walk from this hotel by foot. It have all facility with luxury and all are at reasonable rates. There is all food available, all type of Indian, Chinese, continental. Everything is good, I love this hotel food mostly. The outside view from the room is incredible, exotic moments in this hotel. Surrounding areas are also good. Also car parking is available and people behaviour is also fine. Helpful staff, thanks for hotel staff and peoples of Shimla. I recommend to visit Shimla and stay in Shimla Hotel Holiday Home once.
It's a creative hotel. Fantastic rooms here. The food is so delicious. In this hotel many creative games were there. I was here with my family. It was nice to stay here, this hotel is fantastic in all ways. It's services are best. Housekeeping services is also good. Me and my family enjoyed very much. The best thing I like in this hotel is, its beautiful rooms.
The conveniently located hotel. The staff behaviour was good. The hotel room was well maintained and clean but there were no views from the room, the amenities provided were working fine. No problems with check-in and check-out. They provided good quality food. They did not arrange any sightseeing. It was religious trip with family. The hotel was value for money. I will recommend to other travellers.
