Itinerary:
Day 1. Shimla to Kalpa (280 Kms)
Today we will pick you up from Shimla and drive to Kalpa which is at around 244 Kms from Shimla. Since we will be taking you either to Hatu Peak or Sarahan Temple or A jungle walk Near Narkanda the total distance may add upto 280 Kms. Hatu Peak Give a 360 degree view of mountain ranges of Himachal. You will also get an opportunity to photo shoot and darshan of Hatu Mata Temple. Have Lunch at Rampur and then move onward for Kalpa.
At Kalpa your host will be Kinnaur Geo Tourism, which offers you comfortable stay, food and beverages at the Hotel “The Monk “ or at the Resort “The monk”. At the resort you have option to stay in Swiss Cottage tents and Cottages.
Day 2. Kalpa Local site Seeing
Today you will have the entire day at leisure, you can go on a leisure walk to the Near by jungle and have the magnificent view of “Mount Kinner Kailash” and “The Shiva Linga”, Kalpa Village and Monastery, some quality time at the” Van Vihar”.
Day 3. Leisure Trekking to Tsaka (3 kms)
Today we will have a leisure walk/Trekking to Tsaka alpine meadows from where the view of the Kinner Kailash will be enchanting and mesmerizing. We will have packed lunch just in front of The Mount Kinner Kailash. In the evening you may like to do some shopping of Kinnauri Handicraft, apples, dryfruits etc. before you retire for the day.
If not able to trek then we will have short walks around the Van Vihar and the Kalpa Heritage Village.
Day 4. Kalpa-Sangla/Baspa Valley –Kalpa (140 Kms)
Today we will have a early breakfast move to Sangle/Baspa valley Where we will visit the village temple of Batseri or Kamru Fort and Chitkul the last village of India in this valley. We will get back to “The Monk- Kalpa” in the evening for night stay.
Day 5. Kalpa- Nako (115 Kms)
Today we will Go to Nako. After Pooh you wll find depleting vegetation and by the time you reach Nako you have experiencet the desert. This village is a very important one from Buddhism point of view. It has an ancient Buddhist temple and a new one also. There are so many chhortens/Stupas within the village. Nake also has a small natural lake.
If you climb up around one kms from the village you will have a breathtaking view of the Zanskar mountain ranges. You will also be able to see Chulling Village and The Mount Leo Purgyul. Don’t forget to capture these mountain ranges in your camara.
Here we will stay in Swiss Cottage Tents of “The Monk-Nako”.
Day 6. Nako-Shego (120 Kms)
After breakfast we will drive to Shego six kms short of Kaza in Spiti. Spiti landscapes and villages are very beautiful. It is also known and museum of geology or the cold desert.
On the way we will visit Gue Village where a 550 years old body of a monk is worth visiting. You have to call the person who keeps the key of the temple where body is kept.
We will also be visiting the famous Tabo monastery. It is also referred to as the Ajanta of the Himalayas.
By evening we will reach Shego. Here we are going to spend the night is the Hospitality of Kinnaur Geo Tourism’s “ The Monk Resort” with an option to stay in Swiss Cottage tents and Mud Huts.
Day 7. Shego-Dhankar & Pin Valley (116 Kms)
Today after breakfast we will set out to explore Dhankar Village where remains of the King of Spiti;s Palace and Jail are there. We will also walk to the Dhankar Lake and then after having packed lunch proceed to Pin Valley. Here we will go to the last motor able point called Mud from where trekking enthusiasts can go for a 4 days trekking to Bhaba valley. The entire trekking route is full of picturesque natural landscapes. For the Night stay will be back to Shego.
Day 8. Shego-Kaza-Chandratal Lake/Kunzum pass-Shego (190 Kms)
After breakfast we will proceed to Chandratal Lake. We will get to experience an altitude of 4551 meters at The Kunzum Pass. Chandratal can also be reached by a trekking (8km) from Kunzum Pass. This lake has a story attached to it which we will tell you on the way. It has a periphery of 2.5 Kms. A Three Day’s Trekking to Baralacha commences from here. We will have our packed lunch at Chandratal Lake and return to Shego for night stay. On the return you have an option to have dinner in village in the traditional way and a small cultural function. In case of Snow fall we may have to cut short our trip and return from Kunzum Pass or Losar.
Day 09. Shego-Kalpa (220 Kms)
Now is the time to wind up so today we will return to Kalpa for night Stay. Here you will again have the majestic Kinner Kailash greeting you. Refresh yourselves so that your body gets ready for another day’s journey.
Day 10 Kalpa-Shimla (244 Kms)
Your Last day of this Trip with us. From Rampur we will have a different route so that more of nature can be soaked in our minds and soul. At Shimla you will stay in a premium room. You will have a lot of things to share with each other on the dinner table tonight and a lot of memories to linger upon before you fall asleep.
