Shiv Khori is one of the important cave shrines of Jammu, which is famous for the natural formation of a shivalinga. The 150 metres long shrine is among the most respected cave shrines of Lord Shiva in Jammu.

The major highlight of the shrine is the 4 feet svayambhu lingam. The revered figurine constantly baths in a milky lime fluid dripping from the ceiling. There are several natural impressions and images of Hindu deities on the cave walls.

"Beautiful cave shrine"

  • 7.0/7
  • Posted Aug 13, 2015
Shiv Khori or Shiva's Cave is a natural cave containing a self made ling. This cave shrine is located in Reasi district, close to Katra and Udhampur. Visitors visit Mata Vaishno Devi shrine with a trip to this cave. An excellent place to visit surrounded by natural landscapes and excellent view of the mountains. The shrine is also good, do take a guide so that you can get a good knowledge about the place. A natural Shivling is here on which milky water is dropping from the ceiling of the cave. One of the best Shiva shrine.

Very beautiful, spiritual, calm and soothing place, it is 4 km trek from main gate to the holy shrine, like Mata Vaishno Devi, pony service is available one can avail that if not possible to walk. Very clean and well maintained place, eating shops were there in the beginning only.

"Great phase of thrill"

  • 7.0/7
  • Posted Jun 4, 2015
Naturally appeared caves representing the abode of lord shiva will lead one through a great phase of thrill as one will enter the shrine through a dark and thin cave path. 200km above sea level one can climb the hills via ponies or caravan. And on successfully completing one's journey one will be free of pain and tiredness.
