Very nice architecture and ambience. It looks like a place. Very well maintained property. View from the rooms is nice. Rooms were clean and spacious. Staff was professional. Food was good in taste but a little expensive. Overall the stay was comfortable and pleasant.
I had visited with my family in the month of June ( not a good time to visit as the environment is quite most suitable time will be between October to February. ). I had my stay at Hotel Shiv Nivas Palace which is in the City Palace Complex of Udaypur. Its managed by HRH Group, who is maintaining this palace converted in to Hotel. It s just 5-7 min drive from the railway station . . Just by entering into the main entrance you get the royal feel of palace. It has very nice parking facility and security on their toe to help you. The reception hall is quite spacious and gives you the glimpse of what you can expect in the hotel. There are two types of rooms available 1) normal room (though its not as normal as the name suggests) and 2) Suite. Both rooms have initial gallery through which you can enter into your room (and both are under your control, you can close the gallery door and can keep the room door open for some time with all the privacy you require. The galleries in the rooms have relaxing chairs and coffee table so that even you can have your morning tea over there. The suite has quite a big gallery and those galleries are facing toward Pichola Lake so you get wonderful view of lake and in the night its even more beautiful. The breeze coming from the lake side is a real joy as the suites are at much height. You will find many locations of the complex where many film have been shoo ted. Even some part of the recent one Yeh Jawani Hai Dewanee had been shoo ted in and around the complex where you can freely roam Entering the rooms you can have a look at big comfortable bed, TV, mini fridge, tea/coffe maker, wardrobe and everything you can expect at home. The beds are quite comfortable. They have taken care of all the amenities and utility thing you may require with utmost details. You only need your clothes and shoes to stay in that hotel. The washrooms are quite spacious. Almost of a size of room in other small hotels, with bathrobes, towels, napkins and bathtub. The supplies in the washroom are also of excellent quality. The staff was very courteous and helpful. The housekeeping was also up to the expectation. Cleaning was done twice a day. The hotel offers suite with Continental breakfast and dinner/Lunch with the stay. The food is exquisite and I think one will not find such quality in whole Udaypur. The hotel has WiFi & pool. As its within the City Palace Complex all the point of interests such as Fateh Sagar Lake, Pichola Lake, Crystal Gallery, Market are nearby. Its really nice place to relax. The room charges can be bargained. Atleast when its off-peak season. But trust me you wont regret for paying bit high once you have stayed there for couple of days.
This is the best abode to break in Udaipur. Its 10 minutes drive from the Railway base. Its aboriginal alcazar area Maharaja is as well residing. If you adulation Rajasthan again you would just adulation this place. It gives you a activity that you are active in accomplished and claimed bedfellow of Maharaja. The aliment is just alarming and the account is abundant. We had best vacation anytime at Shiv Niwas Palace. The agents is actual accessible. I can break anytime at this abode for relaxing. They accept a acceptable pond basin and as well accept a allowance with annihilate table. They accept spa called Tattva. You can adorn banquet at Sunset Terrace which is just admirable and is next to the Pichola basin. The evenings in June were so reconditioned that we never acquainted the summer calefaction about us. Thanks to the accomplished aggregation authoritative our break a memorable one!
I travelled by train and it is easily located and rooms are very clean and bit expensive but I stay for free cost. Staff were friendly and helpful and appearance was very nice. Surroundings were nice and love to see the royal families sitting in the vintage cars. There was lake and city palace was behind us and especially food was good and nice. The hotel provides many activities and sightseeing facility but I did not use it. No delay found and also parking available. I am a photographer so I went with team to shoot royal families and Mr. Laxer Raj, the owner of the property, so it is another luxury for me. Basically I am from Delhi.
If you are looking for royal treatment, this hotel is best choice. It has great hospitality from staff members. Rooms need some maintenance as I could see some issues in furniture and also on door latches etc. But otherwise, great place to stay. It has amazing food and do take lake view room to have a perfect stay.
Shiv Niwas Palace is part of the City Palace complex that belongs to the present royal family of Udaipur. We were pleasantly surprised to know the Shiv Niwas was a royal guesthouse in the earlier era. The ambience of the entire hotel and the proximity to Lake Pichola and the City Palace made it a great place to stay. It was a bit pricey, and though the food was good there weren't many veggie options. Breakfast buffet was quite average, expected better spread given the amount charged! All in all a good hotel.
