Overall a very nice experience, because of the good hospitality of the hosts and good facilities and food.
Best Experience: There are some very interesting items like a group of ducks, rabbits and special birds which are flowing there. Then there is a small walk through a forest path which takes you to the Cauvery and there is an old temple there and also an opportunity to do mock fishing. My children enjoyed that a lot

Overall it was a good experience. The location of the resort is good and convenient. It is worth a 2 day 1 night stay. The distance from bangalore makes it a very convenient choice for a weekend getaway. The resort is clean with conveniences like a refridgerator and 24 hr hot water. The barachukki falls was excellent. The coracle ride was worth the Rs.100/- we paid he took us really close to the falls..so getting wet was inevitable.
Best Experience: The best experience was definately the time we spent in the pool and the barachukki falls. We visited on a weekend so the falls was crowded and quite poorly maintained. The coracle ride was exciting for an extra Rs50 he took us for a another small round. Chat up with these guys and they will give you a better time. The pool at the resort was clean and very enjoyable. The fun fishing was also exciting. We managed to catch a few small fishes, which was promptly let back into the water.
Worst Experience: The falls is a breathtaking view. However there is no care or concern shown by the govt to keep the place clean, which really distroys the experience. There were just too many people littering, garbage was strewn all over, people were bathing, washing dishes and clothes at the same place. Even if the govt charges some nominal fee from visitors it is worth it to just preserve these places.
The resort was a good experience. However they should provide free snacks during tea/coffee/bon fire. The snacks were charged and quite highly priced. The food can be improved alot. Breakfast was good but lunch and dinner was average. Also since tea/coffee was DIY I think it should be provided thru the day.

GSV, as we discovered is just half hour from Mysore, and we are glad we opted to experiment staying there rather than in Mysore, while breaking journey enroute to Bangalore. It is so calm and beautiful. The falls are a stones throw away and, this time of the year a delight to see.
GSV was a welcoming break enroute from Ooty to Bangalore. It is so calm and beautiful. The waterfalls are a stones throw away and a delight to see this time of the year.
The pool at the resort is refreshing. The food is personally handled by the hosts, and one could see the personal touch to make sure everyone is kept happy. We had 2 children with us, and special exciting menu was prepared for them. They loved the sight of the duck, geese, dogs pigeons, and what have you.The touch of nature was a refreshing change for them, espcially since we live in the city and in an apartment. I had no regrets spending the night at Georgia Sunshine Village instead of Mysore, and will definitely return for more of nature and relaxation.
A Special Thanks to the Hosts, Leonard and Georgia, for giving us the atmosphere of a home away from home.
Best Experience: The fabulous food. (the lemon pudding is to kill for!). The rooster that guards its teritory, not very big tho, but grrrreeat fun, with him chasing you if ever you wondered in there!!
The staff that wait on you patiently, and willing to do that extra bit for you.

We visited the GSV on the 25 of January, 2009. We had earlier gone on a vacation to a homestay in kutta, and were expecting to spend the weekend on some such place. We found the GSV very nice in its facilities, and the food was very good. It is situated in the middle of nowhere, and has very good surroundings. It has very modern amenities and games facilities, all of which we enjoyed thoroughly. However, there is nothing more than that you could do around. There are a couple of waterfalls, with coracle rides, but they are quire far from the resort (takes some 45 minutes to an hour to reach them). If one is not going to the waterfall, and wants to do something apart from what common resorts have, like, if you are interested in seeing some wildlife, experiencing some glimpse of village life, this definitely is not the place to go. The only two activities that you can do apart from in-house GSV facilities are \'fun-fishing\' and trekking. There isnt a great place to trek around, you will be guided through the villages and some reasonably decent slopes. For fishing, there are plenty of fishes in the stream flowing 5 minutes walk away from the resort, but, its very hard to catch some fish. We had to find the right place downstream to find reasonably large fishes, and we managed to catch only 3 small ones. If they had provided with live baits (like earthworms), we could have done much better. Else, it just becomes fish-feeding.
Best Experience: Very modern in-house amenities, and good food.
Worst Experience: Fishing was a tragedy. No baits, no floats on the rods.

We came across this place by sheer chance. It has a special mention in the Outlook 52 weekend breaks from Bangalore. We were there for only 1 night, but thoroughly enjoyed our break from Bangalore. The drive there is not very long, but some sections of the roads are horrible.
Best Experience: The hosts were gracious and very warm. The place is situated well awake from any roads and civilisation, so is very quiet. The buffet meals were very nice. We had a nice quiet time there. The morning walk, though bereft of any wildlife, was very healthy!
Worst Experience: None really.

My wife the children and myself found this place by sheer luck and by God was it a good find!!!
The resort is situated in the middle of nowhere and the facilities provided in this remote place are incredible.Hats off to the owners for this wonderful place in the wilderness just 120 kms. from bangalore. The swimming pool is spotlessly clean ( imagine a pool in the jungles) , the rooms very clean ,service is good for the reason that the local farm boys are trained to do the job.
The children enjoyed the fun fishing the most especially since it is done with just a bamboo rod and line.
The nature walk was nice.
The owners Leonard & Georgia met us initially on our arrival and then at dinner and lunch.During our chat with them we understood that the food is prepared by them personally. This is the reason for the homely touch to the food which i must say is \'tasty\'.
Best Experience: Nothing special , but the whole experience was a memorable one
Worst Experience: None that I can think of.

The place where GSV is located is quite fine -quite secluded... but just not worth the price. The website claims that about fun-fishing but there is just a pond near by an its not even a stream.... There was not much variety of food for the price paid. Breakfast was bad.. dint feel like home made breakfast. The host were quite rude.. talking about customer service.. the host dont have patience in handling customers... need to have lots patience, when running such a place. They are too much into money making than providing an extra mile service to the customer. ITS JUST TOOO EXPENSIVE. I do not recommend this place. I feel for the same amount there are better places and activities provided in and around Bangalore by many others. ITS JUST NOT WORTH TRAVELLING SO FAR.
Best Experience: Good experience is the silence and nature walk and sitting by the pool on a moonlite night .
Worst Experience:
HOST- dint even bother to enquire about us being comfortable in that place and dint even bother to enquire about how was our stay. We saw them when we entered and saw them to pay the bill when leaving and they call this as home stay?????? Just dint have a home stay feeling.

We found Georgia Sunshine Village fulfilled all that it offered - and more. The kind of break we desparately needed from a hectic schedue in Bangalore.
The food was as good as that we have weekly at the Taj, in fact they were happy to provide special dishes for us, at no extra cost!
The accommodation was spotlessly clean and comfortable.
The swimming pool was beautifully clean and just the place to relax in. The games room has a table tennis, exercise bike and a number of board games.
There is an evening bonfire, if you wish, and the option to go fishing - all free. OK if you want sightseeing trips - local waterfalls, then, of course, this is extra.
We could not have asked for more and returned duly refreshed after being \'pampered\' for five days.
For those who just want to relax and get away from it all in quiet, peaceful surroundings, then give it a try.
Best Experience: No actual \'highlights\' the whole stay was an experience we will remember and hopefully return to.
Worst Experience: There were none
