Siddharta Hotel, Mysore
Guest House Road Nazarbad, Mysuru, Karnataka 570010
Lounge - it is decently done and can accommodate 10-15 visitors at a time. Check-in - was easy. I just mentioned that I had booked over the phone and gave my name. I had to fill in the regular visitor details form. I was given a room on fourth floor. I got the kind of room that I had booked (A/C double). Rooms - Room was clean and well maintained. The furniture definitely needs to be refurbished. Please see attached picture of the sofa. Bath room was clean and well maintained. A/c in the room was not good. In spite of keeping both AC and fan on, the room was a little warm. Room service - was prompt enough. Staff - They expect you to tip them for everything that they do. Keep lot of Rs.10/20 notes handy. Reception folks were ok and well behaved. Restaurant - Has 2 sections. One air conditioned and other one is regular Udupi hotel kind of place. Air conditioned part offers good south Indian and North Indian food, but has below average service. Both of them are over crowded during the lunch hour. You choose what you prefer. During our stay, we had chance to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner. Food was good, but service was below average. Location - Excellent. Hotel is close to central bus stand. Palace is within walking distance and evening walk to palace is thoroughly enjoyable. If not walk, take a horse drawn cart ride. Zoo is within 1-1.5km distance from hotel. Checkout - was easy. No hassles. Parking space - This is the best part. You will find lot of parking space here compared to so many other hotels in around Harsha Road and/or Bus Stand. If you get your own vehicle, you have space and safety for your vehicle.
