Chail Sightseeing - Sidh Baba Ka Mandir

Chail came into existence when Raja Bhupinder Singh, exiled from Shimla, decided to create a summer palace of his own. One grander, more lavish and more beautiful than Shimla. So he built Chail on three hills. What clinched the decision for him was that Chail was higher than British controlled Shimla! Known as one of the smallest hill stations in the Himalayas, Chail is surrounded by lush forests and is at a height of 2.25 km from sea level. He chose the Sadh Taba Hill to build himself a palace. However, as the legend goes, Sidh Baba, a saint appeared to him in a dream and told him he must build a temple on this spot. And sure enough Sidh Baba ka Mandir was built. The temple is built in the traditional style and is Chail's highest point at 8,000 ft. It is between Rajgarh and Pandhawa. The people of Chail believe that Sidh Baba is their protector and he is revered deeply by all.
