Shopping -spices ...A good place to buy spices are at munnar city .Goto S.N Spices shop .you get a good one here and in the evening you can buy hot banana chips too. places to see- A must see in the entire day as followsA)Matupatti dam B) Echo Point C) Kundala Lake , D) Top station and E) Tata Tea Museum( 75rs entry fees per person along with 1/2 hr documentary about the evolution of munnar and how Tea is processed.Even you can sip fresh tea here for free.Reach before 4pm). These are the places you must visit if you are on only one day trip. Else you can include Rajamalai (Erivikulam National Park) -Half day required and you must reach early there. Also places such as spice village (another must visit ,100rs per person)- A guide will explain you all the spices which grow there and you can see the plantations of the same. Other places are Kolukkumalai tea estate,Periyakanal falls (on the way towards Chinnakanal),Marayoor etc. Food :- At munnar city for normal and budget non veg food try Gurus opp mahavir jain hotel (Another place for north indian veg food). This place can be visited by family too and you get good kerala style food such as appam parota and idiyappam. For lunch you get fish fry meals and Chicken Biriyani. else for continental breakfast you can try at Silver spoon and rapsys(This place has come on NDTV Good times -Highway on my plate and lot of foreigners visit here for their different food items. Check at the Menu -Every dish is explained in detail and beautifully). For pure vege try Saravana bhavan -cheap and best. One must try their Medhu vadas and Ghee roast.
