We stayed at Silmog Garden between 9 February and 12 February 2014. I stayed with my wife at Silmog. Perfect place and best hospitality I have seen after being to so many places. Couple of days before we arrived there was snowfall and hence the roads were jammed. Mr. Thakur was kind enough to send us a vehicle to pick us at Green Tax Barrier itself. Unfortunately, bus people did not allow us to get down. So we had to get down at the final stop after a wait of almost 90mins. The best part, the driver was waiting at the spot to pick us up. Good isn't it? Next, as soon as we arrived at the room, we were offered free upgrade to deluxe rooms by Mr. Lovely Thakur. I was very pleased with the courtesy and hospitality. We took heaters at extra charge. The food was good too. The non-veg restaurant was good to look at. Personally liked it. The next day, Lovely Thakur had arranged us vehicles to go to Kullu, Manikaran. The following day to Solang Valley. The drivers Bhanshu, Kiran were very experienced drivers and patient as well. Very pleased with the service offered by the hotel management. The rooms were very spacious and were very neat. Well maintained. There was 24hours water supply. We had hot water bags in the room. View in the room was good. We could see snow covered Himalayas. The best courteous part of our stay was that we were offered snow shoes and umbrellas whenever we went out. (I don't think every hotel provides that). I loved the way Mr. Lovely Thakur took care of his guests with care and hospitality. I will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Manali. Its proximity to Mall road, bus stand, Van Vihar, the list goes on makes this hotel even more recommendable. Thanks to everyone at Silmog ( especially Mr. Lovely Thakur) who made our stay memorable.
I visited Manali in May 2015. I booked this hotel after getting many positive reviews from different sources. When I reached to hotel I found my decision 100% right. Location of this hotel is not too good but if you want to stay near the mall road Silmog Garden is the right choice. Room was neat and clean so as the bathroom. Mr. Thankur the owner of silmog garden was a nice person to meet. They arranged our rohtang visit even when it's very difficult because of some govt issues. Food was a little expensive but delicious so you won't mind paying for it. Decoration of the room was so good as it was my honeymoon trip. Nice staff. They always meet you with a sweet smile. They have separate kitchen for veg and non veg and that's a good thing if you are a pure vegetarian. Their rose garden that was simply awesome. We have taken so many photographs there. So if you want a budget hotel with great food, Silmog Garden is the right choice for you.
I have had a pretty horrible experience with the hotel. The entire ordeal is narrated below: . . The quality of rooms on offer are no match for the prices charged. A two bed Deluxe room did not have even have the standard electric kettles in the rooms The room heater was provided on extra charge, which was not sufficient for warming the room. No power backup. Fewer power-points for Mobile charging/heater. No proper latch in the room apart from door center nob. After much complain and noise, I was allotted a different room and working room heater the next day Now coming to the interesting part of food and beverages. The hotel again has a strict policy of adhering to it's own set time standards and does not intend to understand or keep in mind the customer's preference or timing. Breakfast is available only till 10 am. If you are a minute late, breakfast is closed and you need to search for other alternatives. All in all, you will need to adjust your food and beverage timing to suit the hotel standards and it's not vice Versa. Anyways, the food and tea quality is also not that good so, one should not waste time pondering over the same I just forgot to add that all the rooms in the hotel does not have lifts and neither the website nor the hotel staff will tell you this thing at the time of pre booking the room.
The one thing guests may remember after leaving this hotel is the staff here. You make relationships here, rather than being just a guest The hotel is located in a rather poor location compared to many other hotels, this being the only negative point which I could find. But this location has its own advantage too. 20-30 steps, you are in the Mall Manali, the bustling little stretch of this hill heaven It's difficult to find the hotel from Google Maps. Just ask the local population, they will guide you I booked the room via travel websites, got a nice deal for 4 nights. I booked a Deluxe room, but the hotel manager was courteous enough to offer me a bigger suite room as there were many vacancies and cancellations due to heavy snowfall Mr. Amit takes care of all your needs, may it be taxi booking, tour guide, food, water. You are sure to be treated like King and Queen. That is the difference between this hotel and others Food was amazing. I could hog on some 7-8 potato parathas at a go. One complain I had was on the room heater. Room Heaters are charged at Rs. 300 PER HEATER PER DAY. In a deluxe room, you need 02 heaters and that rips you off Rs. 600 per day. This is too high for a two star property. Request to reduce that Rest everything was perfect and memorable. Recommended for all.
Nice quaint place to stay which is just off the mall road just like a home away from home though the rooms do not have a fan which may sometimes be needed in summers This place has limited choice breakfast buffet and if you order something have patience as it is prepared fresh on order so takes time. Food is good, the front desk is very helpful and provided very minute details to plan the trip. Once there to make everything hassle free, no lifts only stairs, hotel provided pick and drop to the bus stand ( do check for the offer) Overall the feeling was being at home where the main gate gets locked at certain hour of the night Thanks silmog garden for such a nice stay
